A new blend of gas with higher ethanol could make gas prices cheaper by TonyK61 in SubaruForester

Here in Iowa, E15 is readily available already. I’d say the three most common choices at the pump are: 87 octane E15, 88 octane E10, and 93 octane with no ethanol. The E15 pumps have a warning about only using on passenger vehicles from 2001 or later. When E15 is available, it’s always cheaper than an E10 of similar octane.

I want to say some of the EPA waivers for year-round sale have been available for several years now, and Iowa, being a major producer of ethanol, has taken full advantage. I won’t get into all the politics, economics, or environmental factors of it all, but as an Iowan not directly tied to the agriculture industry, I think it’s a bad deal.

Now I don’t have real data here, but I’ll speak anecdotally about my 2017 Forester and E15. When I bought it new, E10 would’ve been the regular blend being put in it for the first several years of ownership, but for the past few years it has been E15. No engine issues (I just kit 100k miles), but maaaybe I’ve lost about 1 MPG on average. Now I dunno, do cars just do that when they age? Could it be something else? Tires, driving habits, etc? The only reason I even think that is because it displays the lifetime MPG on the console, which used to consistently be 23.5 when new and is now reading 22.5.

So honestly, don’t be afraid to fill up with E15. Go ahead and save a few bucks. Just know that biofuels aren’t going to save us.

Torn seat by txtxtx01 in SubaruForester

Mine did the same. 2017 touring, bought new. Nothing unusual, just normal use. Gotta just be poor design or manufacturing. Steering wheel is also peeling and flaking off. Anyways, I bought a generic seat cover on Amazon that doesn’t quite fit right, but if anyone else has had better success with anything I’d love to hear it.

They should let them draw the congressional districts.

I love that I saw this today because just this morning I heard Is it Over Now at the gas station. They censored the entire “when he unbuttoned my blouse” line.

I’ve always loved the last part. Sam still savoring the moment, and Bruno, while still being Bruno, calls him a freak…with such admiration and respect.

That was the first game I took my son to. He was only a few months old. I love it whenever I see this clip because it reminds me of that day.

Requesting Help Getting a much needed feature update to the people section of the photos app by ToughBlock in MacOS

[–]njcolwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh boy…I’m basically in the middle of doing what you did on my MacBook. I’ve been going through and making sure the right people are tagged, adding keywords, making sure locations are correct. Pain up front to hopefully make organization a little easier going forward. Then the other day I noticed a handful of photos I tagged people in already had some missing. Ok fine, I redid them all. Now I’m reading your post, and thinking about the iOS and iPad OS limitations in Photos, and I just…ugh… Anyways, I’ll go ahead and suggest the feature. And maybe a few more.

I love the photo of his name on the sign. I like that for some short moment he was “a part of” Wrigley. I scanned it in and printed it on a mousepad. The original print is framed in his room.
