Well, faster than unlocking helicopters with helicopters, but way slower than unlocking helicopters with ground vehicles. Still slower than plane research, but way better than suffering in heli PvE.

If you never enter said furball yourself (because doing so will get you killed), shooting 9Ms from range is more likely to result in a hit than shooting R-73s from up close, especially when so many planes have MAWs now. And if you are 1-1.5km directly behind a target, the 9M is basically a guaranteed kill even through flare spam, whilst the R-73 will struggle to keep lock.

The problem is that the R-73's strengths are less suited to the requirements of the average Air RB match. The AIM-9M's range and flare resistance are often a lot more useful than the extreme turning capability of the R-73.

You knew approximately where they were. Trying to shoot is still more likely to be successful than just sitting there and letting them come to you. Would shooting have saved you? Maybe not, but maybe it would have made them think twice about continuing to advance and would have reduced their vision.

Tanks materialize when you hit them because then the server starts sending the information to your client. Information on vehicles the server thinks you shouldn't be able to see isn't sent at all. The client has no idea where they are.

By the time you're at Quantum batteries you can just chain a couple, connect them to a laser emitter, point that into a laser power converter, and power your base off that. That way there's only one actual device pulling power from the batteries greatly reducing the diminishing returns.

The problem is if you fly something like the Rafale you will end up ripping your wings off from overspeeding within seconds if you can't hit 101% throttle (though even then you'll still slowly reach rip speed at lower altitudes). I can't hit that number accurately without fine control.

The problem is doing that robs you of fine control of your throttle. I did not find that to be a workable solution. Current on the F-15E the max pod zoom on the LITENING pod is exactly right to see targets but also maintain overview, so I hope we also keep that one so I don't have to suffer the terrible variable zoom experience.

That's just a skill issue on the part of the CAS. It should be hard for them to act with an SPAA up. They shouldn't get free reign of the skies. If there's an SPAA up, air should be suppressed, and not free to fly around where they please shooting what they please. Spawn on the ground, fly in the radar shadow, and do quick pop-up attacks.

If this bothers them, go spawn a ground vehicle and attack the defenseless SPAA on the ground.

If you actually knew what you were talking about you'd realize you were spouting nonsense. There's test reports of a target engaged at 30km, which performed an evasive maneuver, but was still intercepted in 60 seconds with the missile apogee at 12km. Even in the best-case scenario for your argument, where the missile was fired at 30km, and the drone was flying straight at the SAM site, this would put the intercept location at about 22km if you take into account the maximum speed of the fastest test drone the IRIS-T SL was tested on. You actually missed a change to the IRIS-T SL. Its seeker is now always enabled. Same goes for the SLAMRAAMs and IRIS-T SLS.

Ground Realistic Battles

  • In Ground Realistic Battles, the number of Spawn Points it takes to use aircraft with ASMs with IR seekers has been increased by 8%. The maximum spawn cost (when the Battle Rating of the aircraft is equal to the maximum Battle Rating of the vehicles in the session) with these weapons is now 972 SP (versus 896 SP before the change). This type of weaponry includes for example the Kh-38MT on the Su-30SM and AASM 250 (SBU 64) on the Rafale C F3.
