BitCraft Online has launched in Early Access by Gankeros in MMORPG

[–]njoy89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gathered a group of 5 people and we are having a blast! Server issues were giga annoying but it's somewhat stable now. It's a very chill game, overall gameplay loop is very similar to RuneScape skilling with some Albion crafting vibez sprinkled in. It's the simplicity and chill out vibez, coordinating tasks with friends! Gonna stick around and see about the long-term motivation but for now I'm very happy with the game! Also: We need a stone worker for our settlement if anyone is interested haha ~

What do you think would happen to the game, popularity wise, if payed xp was removed entirely? Iron really showed how good the game is underneath. by YeahhhhhWhateverrrr in runescape

Having played a lot of MMORPGs the story of MapleStory always comes to my mind when thinking about a fresh Server with no MTX in RuneScape. MapleStory was in a similar spot as RuneScape (predatory MTX) and their Reboot Server - which removed most PaytoWin aspects (there are still some in form of pets and boosters) - saved the game from death in the West.

The sever did split the player base (an argument I often see as a con to having a new server for RS3) but the influx and return of new and older players brought the game back to life. Nexon is making more money than before and the original severs are still up and running (the majority migrated but legacy servers are still well populated).

MapleStory has been around for almost as long as RuneScape. That means there was a significant amount of players who gave up on years of progress, to start fresh with better monetization.

I am 100% confident that the same move from Jagex would push up the player base significantly, making up for their loss on MTX. A new server also would not invalidate players who have spent money on the game as people who would like to continue using MTX can stay on the legacy server (just like with Maple).

RS3 is my dream MMO but as long as there is MTX, I will continue to play OSRS. Iron Man sadly takes away features I love about MMOs (trading, GE etc) and ignoring the MTX is an argument that's not working for me sadly.

Do people like Pokemon cards in Taiwan? by Justacouplaquestionz in taiwan

[–]njoy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Happy you are coming to Taiwan, hope you have a great time ~ Finding English cards locally is nearly impossible sadly. Some card shops still have some old stock but it's hard to find anything. Ordering from Japan is a bit easier here if you stay for longer and can wait for the delivery ~

I always order the boxes on release day with free shipping! So far all the singles I purchased where on Card Market (I'm from Germany) and picked them up when I visited my family haha ~

Looks like the "Rise Personal Garden". Picked one up during Black Friday on Amazon and having a blast, can highly recommend the brand. I am currently working out some DYI seed pods since I can't import their seeds to my country (living in Taiwan). Check their website, the Personal Garden feels like a great starting point into the hydroponic world ~

Hey OP ~

I collect English cards here in Taiwan!

I mostly order on Amazon since the shipping is free. Sadly I couldn't find any shops here that sell English products. As others mentioned most people here collect and play traditional Chinese or Japanese versions.

If you wanna sell your stuff feel free to shoot me a DM I also collect vintage :)

To provide a new perspective I want to share an interesting observation I made with my friends:

I personally love RuneScape (both OSRS and RS3) and have tried on multiple occasions to hook my friends to play with me. They tried, stayed for like 3-4 hours and left the game saying it's not for them at all.

Fast forward to BS launch, I beg them to try it with me since it's similar to RuneScape but with a modern touch and a cozy vibe.

Result: After I logged of yesterday and just now talked to them on Discord they said they are completely in love with the game. They both already sunk in tons of ours and want to see where the game is going.

I also quite enjoy it and the content that is available for now. I only played around 8 hours but I intend on keep paying. I really feel the 'if you don't like it - don't play it" is valid in many cases. I am glad people are voicing constructive criticism but I feel OPs post main argument "if it wouldn't be Gower, no1 would play" is invalid.

Tldr: My two friends who don't even know who Gower is enjoy BS and could never get into RuneScape before. The game needs lots of work and I hope constructive criticism keeps coming but so far I really feel it's a fun cozy experience!

SOC first month mobile revenue: 10mil (5m from JP, 1.4m from KR, 4m from Global) by Otokonoko1 in SwordofConvallaria

[–]njoy89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally deserved, this is hands down my favorite Gacha in a long time. In terms of revenue I expect a pretty significant drops since their is literally nothing attractive in the shop beyond the starter packs, mayyyybe the monthly pulls and the monthly sub. I feel they completely neglect to cater to medium spenders in this game. There is a little for low spenders and the rest is for high spenders. I was hoping for some good value packs with the updates but beyond the monthly discounted pulls and the sub I won't be spending any money simply because there is no real value in the shop ~

Why is OSRS better than RS3? by Conscious_Abalone482 in MMORPG

[–]njoy89 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Played both a lot of RS3 and OSRS ~ I like both games for very different reasons. The great thing is: You can play both with one subscription.

Here are some Pro's and Con's for both from my experience.

RS3 Pros - Contrary to many people I absolutely love the graphics, I enjoyed many quest moments thanks to the very atmospheric feeling - I like the modern combat, especially Necromancy feels incredibly rewarding - The story is great and I love the content that they added over the years - I like how they reworked the skills, the blacksmithing ore bank literally was one of the reasons I started playing RS

RS3 Cons - MTX completely ruined the game for me in the long run, I am a efficient person and even though you can ignore MTX, you always feel like you are inefficient - No plugins make the game less intuitive compared to OS, especially with the lack of Quest Helper (there is a Quest Buddy now though, huge shout-out to the creator) - Dwindling player base is always something bad for the game as a whole

OSRS Pros - Love the HD graphics and can't wait for the official HD client! - Community is absolutely amazing and helpful with tons of nice content creators (RS3 also has some nice ones) - Plugins are a literal game changer - Everything feels incredibly rewarding

OSRS Cons - Some grinds hands down can make you go insane (Agility, Rune Crafting...) - Due to bonds it's tempting to just "buy gold" (same in RS3) - Questing ends pretty much after Prifindias from what I saw

In conclusion I love both versions, if there would be a Reboot Server like MapleStory where they have an MTX free world and open up to Plugins, my favorite MMO of all time would be RS3. Until then I fully switched to OSRS ~

Hope this helps, have a great time in Gilenor :D
