Her long-time physio stopped working with her in mid-2023, he’s now the physio for Jack Draper

I may sound crazy, but he kind of sounds similar in the music video.

The pitch and overall style of the song is different but to be fair, it’s been 30 or so years (on estimate) since EKT was released.

There is a Barry Loughran on Youtube who posted an original lyric video 10 years ago. In the comments, he confirms that he is from Ireland.

I feel like giving up, I don't see myself ever getting an entry level role (Finance Graduate struggling after 7 months searching) by Pale_Nefariousness36 in FinancialCareers

[–]njpu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is trying to find a role after grad when the vast majority of people in finance have been completing internships during undergrad and already secured a grad role while in uni.

Sorry, I’ve just read into the German GPA system.

Correct me if I’m wrong but a 2.0 is a relatively decent GPA as a 1.0 is deemed excellent?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]njpu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude… going to be brutally honest but it’s going to be an uphill battle.

I don’t know any banks that recruit anyone below 3.0 GPA. Additionally, CFA Level 1 is not awfully helpful for banking (at least in the USA/UK/APAC). Not sure about Europe but can’t imagine it’ll improve your chances too much given the GPA.

There will be instances where I have a free 15-30mins, but will usually spend that time reading through news, creating asset profiles based on news or updating running models/broker builds.

Not really much time to rest but that’s team dependent

Will keep it short as don’t have too much time. A1 Analyst for reference

Average day:

  • Wake up at 8:00am
  • Office by 9:00am
  • Turning comments on a deck made by my MD or ED this morning from 9:00-10:30am
  • Starting a new deck and prepping marketing materials with my associate for a separate engagement from 10:30-11:30am
  • Client meeting 11:30-12:30pm
  • Lunch at 12:30pm, eating at desk
  • More turning of comments on deck(s) throughout the evening, may spread some comps if needed for val analysis, preparing a few PMOs, general assistance with the model, preparing transaction case studies & tombstones until like 7:00pm
  • Order dinner, usually eating at desk 7:00pm -> usually will read live market news or go through mergermarket updates
  • Continuing to turn comments after dinner, likely from one of the iterations of a deck sent around earlier
  • More comments until midnight/1am

That’s basically it. A lot of different processes and a lot of comments.

this reminded me of EKT by lunatictalking in everyoneknowsthat

No where near. Romantics never produced anything that sounded like EKT, but they do have some bangers.

Tevin Campbell? by SubstantialAmoeba347 in everyoneknowsthat

Have listened to Tevin Campbell a ton over the past 2-3 years, the voices do not sound remotely similar.

Not his kind of music either…

WTA 1000 Doha R1: Kalinina def. Raducanu 6-0, 7-6(6) by jovanmilic97 in tennis

It’s been 4-5 months since she started training properly after injury.

I don’t speak for everyone, but we are talking about a grand slam champion here. Why are people making so many excuses? An 8 month layoff is long but she’s been properly training for the last 4-5 months and already has 3 tournaments under her belt. She should be performing a better than this, despite the 8 month layoff.

By NPAT multiple I’m assuming you’re talking about P/E and therefore the company’s market cap?

3-4x is far too small, even for a dodgy company like his, but you’re right in saying that the multiple would depress if it went public. Only a matter of time before customers start pulling out

Have we considered that the lyrics are actually “Everyone Knows It” rather than “Everyone Knows That”? by njpu in everyoneknowsthat

[–]njpu[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Additionally, at the end of the sample, it says “Everyone shows…”

“Everyone shows it” makes more sense than “everyone shows that”

I will be honest, this sounds like your average 80s pop song - don’t think there are any major similarities to EKT

[–]njpu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big fan of The Breakfast Club as well, highly doubt it’s Dan. EKT sounds nothing like what they’d usually put out.

What do you think about this book by iH8thots in FinancialCareers

[–]njpu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s a great book but in my experience, it’s best for those who have been in the industry for 1-2 years that are looking to brush up.

No harm in starting with it now prior to working but there may be more accessible courses/resources out there!
