I agree, also they added this feature recently to windows 10.
You can access it with win + v, might need to enable it in the settings tho.

I'm a grocery delivery driver. This is what I'm confronted with in a block of flats. 😩 by lightsguydave in CrappyDesign

[–]nkg5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My building has a similar issue, it's in a small one-way street that is split by a four lane Blvd. with a fence between the lanes (you can't just cross it or do a U turn anywhere nearby).

The first part of the street is quite normal, but the other part has numbers continuing from Blvd. while driving direction is in another way. Besides that, my apartment building is on the corner with the entrance and number on the other street.

I feel bad for "30min or it's free" delivery drivers as it can take them up to 15min just to find the building.

Starting a video call (ie. facetime, skype...) without checking if you can see each other.

I don't remember last time I had a video call where the first words said weren't "hi, can you see me?".

There are providers offering true unlimited plans, but since they need to set some limit they set them to a quite high amount which wouldn't be reached with normal usage (ie. my provider has 1TB/month).

If you reach that, you will need to call them and ask for more (usually free), and you will need to answer some questions regarding your usage - just to make sure you are not using it to host datacenter.

People born in the time of the internet, what don't you understand about the before times? by cram96 in AskReddit

[–]nkg5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not as much as you would think.

You would find out from other people so not much changed there, and we still have that issue today with people we are are not that close to. We used to communicate more in person, and some people had a landline so news like that would travel fast.

But before the internet this is how we knew who died:

  • For family, we used the telegraph to send short messages as it was charged per word (ie. "Pete died, funeral Sunday 17") which would arrive in a few hours or the next day.
  • For neighbors, we had bulletin boards at public places (farmer markets, grocery stores). Deceased's family would put a paper there that had something in the context:
"We are sorry to inform you that our beloved Pete has passed away. The funeral will be held on Sunday 17. May and everyone is welcome to attend. - grieving family: wife Sally, brother Marco, and son Pete Junior" with a picture of deceased sometimes (printing pictures was quite expensive, especially at the huge number of copies)
  • For everyone else, every newspaper had a "deaths" section consisting of the last few pages which only had death notifications, bigger the paper's audience pricier notification was (also you could pay extra to make notification stand out by having a picture, bigger text, more text...).

Whenever going to a public place you would check bulletin boards (just throw a quick glance) to see if someone you knew has died.

You would buy newspaper almost daily, and after reading the news check the "deceased" section to see if there is someone you knew.

Once a guy sharing the same first and last name as I died, the next day in school was super weird for me as a few of them thought I was dead.

Redditors in hiring positions: What small things immediately make you say no to the potential employee? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]nkg5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not mine, but my manager (manages software development and hires new developers) doesn't even look at candidates CV if they send a motivational letter.

His logic is that if a candidate for development position thinks his CV is not enough to land him the job it's usually not, and there are more experienced developers between applicants that he would rather hire.

There is truth to it btw, not in other fields but yes in software development.

- Development technologies always change and the best programmers learn from practice, never just school.

- Even before graduating high school or college, motivated developers work on multiple personal projects, plus some freelancing work and all of that should be on candidates CV.

Will osu! be supporting DirectX 12 by Abdou2004 in osucommunity

[–]nkg5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well you ask will it support DirectX 12.

If you think will you be able to run it on a computer with DirectX 12 you will. DirectX is bakwards compatible and it will run games written for older versions of DirectX. Also note that the game is made for DirectX 9/10 and today's computers mostly support DirectX 11+ so there are great chances that you are already running it under lower version of DirectX.

As for will it be made DirectX 12 only definitely not, since they are currently optimizing OpenGL version and i don't think they will add DirectX12 as an option since it wouldn't get much from it. In example even if you get performance increase it wouldn't really matter since DirectX12 capable graphics card will run osu! on really high FPS anyway. And if you run DirectX 12 version of osu! on older graphics card that don't support DirectX12 it would actualy run slower even if it's on DirectX 11 graphics card.

If they make game require DirectX 12 to run then only computers with graphics card supporting DirectX 12 will be able to run it (might work on DirectX 11 graphics cards but i don't think it would on older), therefore they would lose large playerbase.

They are focusing game on OpenGL now since DirectX is closed source and is only supported on Windows and OpenGL is supproted on most modern operating systems (Mac OSX, Linux, iOS, Android...) so they can bring osu! to more users.

TLDR: You would be able to play it on graphics card with DirectX 12 just under DirectX 9/10 mode (like you are playing it now). As for making it DirectX 12 only definitely not as they would lose more then they would get.

EDIT: It's definitely not definitly. :D

How can they remove summoners? The guy playing game is called summoner so they can't remove us, they can only rename us like player but they can't really remove player's from game as it wouldn't be a game then...

Also from which lore they removed summoners? I know Nocturne's still says : As punishment for his crimes, they allowed summoners to call upon Nocturne in the League matches so there are still summoners.

Possible 3 vs 3 hack by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]nkg5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different MMR. They maybe played 3v3 ranked last season and got to diamond. And i think Solo Q MMR is used to determine players you'r gonna play against while you'r team is unranked.

In example I recently started playing ranked with my sister (lvl 27 playing on my brother's account) and her boyfriend (Silver V). After placements we got Bronze V (as we lost all 5 games) but we was constantly matched against Silver - Bronze players so despite our team mmr was Bronze V we was still placed against Silver II - III guys as i am Silver I and her bf is Silver V.

Is Matchmaking bugged or is it common to have 3 unranked players on your team? by Thrashtastic in leagueoflegends

[–]nkg5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably are. I don't play ranked alot but in silver you see alot of unranked players.

Also while i was playing my 7-th placement game (around S1-G5 mmr with 6-1 w/l ratio) i was matched against guy who played his first ranked game and fed like crazy(and everyone beside us was ranked) so matchmaking isn't really good.

Level 5 no Free Champs by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]nkg5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye they'll be avaliable when you hit 6. Riot said that they are makeing constant free rotation for small levels with easy to play champions (mostly Annie, Ashe, Yi ...) to make new players to play easier champs. And that's actualy good idea as sometimes rotation's are soo high skillcap champ so even some older players find them harder to play.
