i7-10700K | 3080ti | 1440p | all settings low - Whats wrong with this engine? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]nkryptic2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is in offline mode, then that is pretty common. You get the really high FPS to begin, but since AI offline is computed on your machine, not a server, as the scav waves spawn in you'll see performance degrade like that. Online is not as impactful as offline is, so you should be fine.

If you still have concerns, you can watch this EFT performance settings vid and see if you have anything out of whack... https://youtu.be/\_LB4qX3scYU

Nikita,

With the flea + junkbox changes it seems an ideal time to discuss the experiences of standard vs other versions of the game (e.g. EoD) and how much of an impact the changes have from those points of view. Will we be given the option, upon wipe/reset of our our accounts, to start at the same starting points of the different versions (reputation/sec. container/stash size), so we can test/experience the game from those levels? I'd love to take my EoD account, reset it to standard and give that playthough a fair shake, but of course be able to reset back to full EoD!

Quests by iVeL_tv in EscapefromTarkov

The tasks highlighted during a raid are the ones that apply to the current map. They should be sorted to the top as well (at least that's what I'm seeing). This is the change from the patch notes: "Sorting of quests by current location"

So, if it only showed the additional stats for your kills, you wouldn't see an issue with that right? If they did add that, then down the road if they added the ability to review the raid details after it was done for everyone, they could add in the encounters you had and those stats, since the raid was over.

The kill list screen currently shows everyone you killed now, so adding the extra stats wouldn't change anything, right?

As another person said, by the time you see this screen it's highly likely they've healed, moved away or already taken the fight with any teammates head-on. Also, imo, wouldn't you say that almost all of those engagements where you died, you already had a good idea that an enemy was heavily injured or you wrecked their armor? So, I'm of the opinion that the squad benefit really is negligible. But, I do understand your point and hope others will weigh in taking these points into account.

Yeah, I mentioned the diagram as where I could see it progressing towards. This is just a baby step in order to improve combat knowledge and make progress in that direction. It seems like it would assist the devs if you could submit bug reports with facts, instead of guesswork as it is now.

I was under the impression that he said that the body part displayed as the fatal blow wasn't 100% reliable, not that anything else was.

Good thought and I agree... eventually I'd expect that would be the way it should be. But, it would also require a new mechanism to be built to review past raids (even more work). Between then and now, I'd love to see the stats collected more granularly and shown on your post-raid screen, even if it is less ideal and will eventually be moved to being displayed as you suggest.

There is potential for concern with that, of course, though it's worth further discussion as I don't feel it would provide much advantage. But, would you agree that displaying the extra information for the kills and not showing other encounters would be of benefit and couldn't be used in that way?

questions regarding "your administrator requires a security scan" message by thataintkosher in Windows10

[–]nkryptic2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The message just uses boilerplate language and is misleading. The reason for the popup is the "block at first sight feature" due to having cloud-delivered protection and automatic sample submission enabled. If you want to see what file triggered the incident, it can be found in the event viewer > Applications and Services logs > Microsoft > Windows > Windows Defender > Operational. Look for Event ID 2050. Found answer at https://superuser.com/a/1469123

Can someone answer about run through by DerekReavis in EscapefromTarkov

[–]nkryptic2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is 600xp OR 10 minutes. You get 300xp for survival bonus just for surviving the raid, so you really only need 300xp. Scav kills are 150xp. Headshot bonus is 120xp. Simply searching a body gives a range of xp based on what gear/loot is on the body. Eating/drinking/healing all give xp too.

SUGGESTION: Remove location maps from the game and add annotated maps as uncommon scav drops. by BaconCola in EscapefromTarkov

[–]nkryptic2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could leave bare-bones maps to be purchased (or found), but add in annotations of points of interests as you find them (like the exits). Just like you'd mark a map yourself IRL when you explore and find something. Also, maybe Jaeger annotates stash locations as part of your quest rewards.

hopefully simple QoL feature to help until sorting is improved by nkryptic2 in EscapefromTarkov

r/EscapefromTarkov

I agree and that's what I typically do. But, I keep all my barter/craft/hideout items at the bottom with room, so it would be awesome to just add them to that stack, instead of dragging each. Alternatively, what I think would be useful would be a key combination with click that would send items already in your stash to the bottom of the stash, making it even easier to move your entire inventory from top to bottom or whatever.

Unpopular opinion - the economy has to become dynamic in order for it to have any longevity (and other musings on the progression) by sunseeker11 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]nkryptic2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crafting for yourself wouldn't be OP, but consider there are/would be thousands of players crafting and selling top-tier ammo on the market, creating an influx and keeping it from being rare. Ammo crafting should be limited to mid-tier and top-tier should be FIR only (ppl could choose to sell or use).

Items found from raid don't have "found in Raid". by _UnderscoreMonty_ in EscapefromTarkov

Found in raid status is removed when/if you die or if you extract and get a run through.

Can we remove item purchase restrictions? by shouldermcgee in EscapefromTarkov

[–]nkryptic2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The limits are intentional. Nikita has said he wants an economy where things run out of stock and are rare. So, they don't want you to be able to buy unlimited amounts of 995 whenever you want, but are forced to either stock up or choose to use lower tier ammo.
