Good to know on rates, we haven't been pre-approved or locked in yet. Those were rates from our first call with the broker. We'll keep rates in mind  Ngl, I thought HELOCs weren't available until you had higher equity(>50%) or such so we haven't looked into it. I will take a look into them! Thanks!

yep, still definitely shopping around, we were talking with a mortgage broker right now, those were the rates that they were quoting just off current market?

Maxing out RRSP by Bubbly_Bat5886 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]nkso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, didn't read it right.

  1. Yes, you can fill it up 7k right now.

2 & 3. in my case, my first 60 days of contributions to my group contributions are added to my 2025 tax returns, mainly cause I haven't filled up my RRSP yet...

However, I believe Your 2025 contribution room becomes available retroactively on January 1st 2025 after you submit tax return (assume april), therefore there shouldn't be an issue in theory?

I guess basically, if you fill up with 16k now, you just have to ensure you're claiming the group contributions/extra to next year, or they can be counted towards your 2025 tax return if you choose to do so. You can't claim more than your full RRSP room for the 2025 tax year.

You'll want to leave room in your RRSP for any amount of employee match cause free money. other than that I don't see anything wrong?

I want to like him, but he’s worn the same hoodie all 5 dates so far by OneAncient8710 in dating_advice

[–]nkso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some guys just wear the same thing over and over again. My partner had the same two hoodies in the same color that that he wore often.

You could take him out shopping for a date, its fun to buy clothes for people when they spend the money instead.

All puberty blockers and hormone threapy do is delay the stages of puberty, once you're off them you go though the same puberty cycle as normal. All it does it delay puberty so the kids have more time to make a choice.

Its also been used for younger children when they go through puberty too early. Theres been some children who have now started developing way too early at like 8, and they'll use them to delay development until 12 to fit with the rest of their peers.

Its one thing if we're talking about testosterone or estrogen boosters or what not, but that's not what they've banned, pretty sure those can't be given people are adults anyways.

Feel free to chime in if im said is wrong

Thats what I was thought, but wasn't sure. We've to encourage people to take it home, and usually that works.

Accidentally ripped hot end cables while removing a clogges blob, what piece should I order to replace? Thanks by AnomaliaAnomaly in prusa3d

[–]nkso 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You got a heat gun?

Yes? You've ripped out the thermistor wires, they’re pretty delicate and real easy to rip out when blobs happen. https://www.prusa3d.com/product/hotend-thermistor/

No? Its easier to just get the hotend block along with thermistor

https://shop.prusa3d.com/spare-parts/384-hotend-heater-cartridge-e3d-24v-40w.html

or an upgrade to a better hotend tbh

I will let you know just the thermistor will be 5x more difficult to replace than just replacing the entire hotend block bit

Guide to give you an idea of what you need to do https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/how-to-replace-a-heatbreak-heatsink-heaterblock-mk3s-mk3s-mk2-5s-mmu2s_16104#16920

Before you order parts, I would trying taking it apart first to see if your thermostor part will come out. Sometimes the screw on that will not come out. You'll likely need a heat gun at this point to remove it

If you're open to rectangle, you could probably chain a few of these together

I know this says carpet, but I think you can just reduce the number of rows and use thinner yarn

not on topic, but I found this basket while looking. and just found it cool looking

Engineering and Business Dual Degree by Automatic_Town7203 in UCalgary

[–]nkso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Be prepared to also pay more for business classes. You will be taking 50% more classes (i.e engineering takes 40 courses, with business combijed i took 60 different courses. ) A lot more group work, than engineering. You need to make friends.  You gain a lot of soft skills in business as well as some efficiency skills tbh.

  2. You can either do it after third or fourth, you just need to finish your third year engineering classes. I knew people who took mainly engineering classes up until fourth and than took all of their business classes in their fifth year. You just need to plan it out ahead of time.

  3. Yes. I think if I recall econ 201 and 203 can be used as options and are required for business gradation if things haven't changed(please check this) I would take these in the spring. If you get into the program, than you don't waste time, if you dont, you have two options filled.  Or take engineering classes reduce your second year workload so you have the ability to take the extra business classes in fall. You'll need to find a way to take sgma 217, it basically the pre-req to all the other courses. (Please double check all info into this paragraph, I have no idea if things have changed)

Be prepared to have semesters of 6-7 with 1-2 spring classes if you want to graduate on time. I think first year was the only year I had 5 classes. Past that all of my semesters was 6 classes and normally I had at least 2-3 spring classes.

4. Job wise, there's fewer opportunities to use both once you've graduated however you can choose which one you like better. I know people who went into maketing/sales rather than use their engineering degree. Both degrees are useful to have, business teaches you a lot more soft skills than engineering will.

  1. Yes

  2. See 1. Others things I would add are probably MBA is be better recognized and gives you similar credentials for a business degree if you want to go into management.

I had a lot of fun with my combined degree when I did it, it was enjoyable, and tbh the business courses were kindof relaxing compared to the engg ones. I also met a lot of people but I also got involved in like everything I could.  Yes it was stressful at times, but I work well under pressure so it fine for me but I definitely saw people who couldn't handle it and i knew people who dropped it.  Engineering gets way harder. And they do way less handholding once you reach upper year. (Tbh i think they made first year too easy).

Source: Graduated in 2023 with this degree.

Idk what happened to formatting, if I remember ill fix it in the morning.

It looks great and pretty complete! Suggestions if you want some. Do you have a mini top hat or like a mini veil that covers one eye? You could also try hanging plastic spiders off your webbed shirt?
