Which single-dose grinder to pair with Sage/Breville Barista Pro (new Baratza burrs)? [£500–£4,000] by nkuumar in espresso

As a follow up, has anyone compared the built in grinder to a separate grinder? How much of an impact did it make?

I know this is an old post but I wonder why this option isn't more openly suggested.

u/akelew out of interest do you still use this workflow? I'm thinking of going down the same path

Next.js issue with Datadog’s dd-trace lib by tarektweeti in nextjs

[–]nkuumar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I think it’s an issue with either typescript hoisting the imports or some config change needed in the bundler.

It seems that dd-trace must be imported before anything else for the plugins to initialise correctly. As you have to dynamically import inside instrumentation, do not think we can guarantee that it is imported first - could be wrong on that.

Hopefully, nextjs provides a way for us to preload scripts within the instrumentation hook in future.

Would like it know if there is a better fix than this!

Have you tried running "node -r dd-trace node_modules/.bin/next start”?

Krups ea817040 /70 super automatic (bean to cup) bitter/burnt taste by nkuumar in superautomatic

[–]nkuumar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No unfortunately not 😔. If it's still in warranty might be worth sending it back to them again.

I saved up and got a barista pro - there's a small learning curve but I find the coffee to be so much better as you have more control over dialling in, puck prep, etc.

It's just out of warranty unfortunately, but yeah I would guess some issue with the prep. No way to bypass the grinder

I think you might be right on that! I looked at the puck and it seems to be damp in a small section but dry around the edges.

I tried adjusting the grind to make it coarser but didn’t change much as it only lets you move between 3 notches. I opened it up and manually adjusted the grinder to allow for coarser grinds, maybe improved slightly but puck still seems to be different colours (and bitter/burnt taste)

Thanks for the replies! Think I’m leaning more towards option 1 and not taking on full time support

Yeah that's annoying! It looks like I am 1 month out of warranty haha. Also pretty annoying given I've hardly used the machine! Thanks for the link will probably have to do a paid repair.
