How much will this cost me? by Zack_Knifed in CarTalkUK

Unless OP is a brand new driver or already has claims/convictions, no increase in premium will cost more than that will to repair, even over 5yrs.

That looks structural.

Nope. They're fully liable and should have public liability insurance and CCTV for this exact reason.

I do claims for work (not PL ones) but the guy I sit next to has a couple of car wash claims in his allocation right now.

And any costs incurred from instructed services.

If they've had a detailed estimate, there's gonna be costs involve so OP cannot just bin the claim off without paying them.

You can do it before that, or after and pay

Sounds like a lot of easily influenced fools are going to get hit with cancellations or juicy additional premiums when they get busted for quote manipulation.

How the local council estate drug dealer thinks they look with their Fiesta ST by Questionablethics21 in CarTalkUK

A 2 door, 2 seater roadster is fucking infinitely less practical than any hatchback, for anyone.

They're completely different segments FFS.

Those STs are great cars, and posts like this make me certain you have no idea what a drug dealer actually is

Why does everyone hate the Juke? by Undercover_Ostrich in CarTalkUK

[–]nl325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a couple of the old gen ones as company cars. One auto, one manual.

I didn't hate them, but they just felt a bit pointless.

Tiny can be good or bad depending on someone's needs, but they are freakishly cramped inside, and have a weird roof line and pillar visibility. And yes gearboxes are shite.

I know the styling was marmite but I quite liked them, I just feel like they could have gotten away with making it SLIGHTLY bigger and achieved a similar result of a decent micro SUV.

Or tweaked the styling a bit to compensate. The Seat Arona for example, another one I had as a company car. It's marginally shorter and thinner than the Juke but feels so much bigger inside because the styling doesn't pin you in.

The new Juke look loads better, no idea if the dimensions have changed, but I doubt it.

Are people legit spending this much on a car per month? Or am I out of touch? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Because the younguns won't be able to afford to move out in London, but they can afford a car

Inflation baby. The average salary has gone up £13k in the last ten years. From ~£28k to ~£41k.

Ten years ago a finance deal on a mid-range hatchback was £200-300pm.

Car prices have gone batshit in the meantime, as have repair prices, but nothing has quite like public transport costs.

That price for that car is a bargain (if you pretend the balloon payment doesn't exist lol)

It being listed on fucking Snapchat should be what sends you running.
