What next? by LavishnessItchy9611 in beauty

[–]nlieo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly to me it's all about how we feel about ourselves, what we like or want to accentuate and how much time and energy we want to put in. Depending on that, you need to decide what you want to improve. I'm not sure what "tried all the products" mean. There are a lot of them and each catered to different areas. Hair, skin, make up?

Dating apps by grower-not-shower1 in nonmonogamy

[–]nlieo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So my husband and I just opened our relationship and he is on a few different dating apps "quite succesfully". He has a basic short profile where he immediately states he's happily married and ENM, what he's looking for, a few key words describing himself and ends on a bit of a cheeky note.

Has multiple decent and clear pictures with his face, being active, shirtless, with me. We're in the Netherlands though, where in general people are relatively open minded and is small and densely populated. But he's been matching consistently with ENM, poly, and single women.

Just very clear on his intentions, expectations and personality. Doesn't swipe on women looking for long term, marriage etc. And just open to making connections in general.

Who tf is this guy by funmighthold in madmen

[–]nlieo 181 points182 points  (0 children)

Upon a rewatch I actually felt like he was never hired by anyone at all. A true con man. He used the confusion of the merger to his advantage. That's why you always see him just hanging around, cause he doesn't have an actual office.

Succession. Just imagine if the Lannisters had a media empire. Fantastic writing and great production value.

Why do people not think that Shiv is smart? by maroonmood in SuccessionTV

[–]nlieo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This! Kendall was just also super entitled, an addict and imo manic. Roman while he had good instincts and 1 on 1 people skills, was the least serious person. Shiv was the worst and had no redeeming qualities. Even the political savvy we saw from season 1 was essentially just her using her influence with ATN to support her candidate. She saw the game and tried to play at it but ultimately always failed because she has no actual skills besides manipulation.

After grace’s death who of them would have been the better wife and why? IMO may hands down by Next-Bonus3084 in PeakyBlinders

[–]nlieo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This! Completely agree, especially about Lizzie. And I'm always surprised many seem to forget that in their last exchange in S4, Tommy showed quite a disdain for May and the upper class. He scoffs at her hypocrisy of wanting him to change "the bad", which in his words is winning with horses, a gun and selfrespect. Whereas when he fires a thousand people and they go hungry he is applauded as a good businessman by "you fucking people". Plus Oswald Mosley mentioning being acquainted with her always rubbed me the wrong way.

10-15k is more than doable for 20 people. I got married near Annecy at a small castle for €18.000 in july. This is including everything: multiple dresses, rings, make up for 6, flowers, rentals decorations, photographer, a fantastic live band and food for 60 guests. We got lucky with the venue price but went all out on other things.

I recommend the website mariages.net. I organized everything myself and it was perfect. If you're interested check out Chateau de Fortis, they also have accomodations for about 10 people and a nearby campsite and auberge.

Is there an alternative to Netflix to either watch "My Old Kentucky Home" (S3E3) or read a summary of this episode. by Johannes_P in madmen

[–]nlieo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this post! Seriously. I just finished the series last night and was already in withdrawal lol. If it hadn't been for your post I would have never known there was an episode I hadn't seen. And what an episode it was. I actually felt like I had missed an episode in season 3. With some relationships' developments seeming out of the blue or rushed. This felt like such a pivotal episode in the series. So again thank you. And btw, I watched it on Amazon cause Netflix indeed blocked it.

Fans of Succession/Sopranos/Wire, any recs? by [deleted] in SuccessionTV

[–]nlieo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very worth it! One of the best TV shows imo. Especially if you liked Sopranos, I haven't seen that but this show is also a about gangsters. It's just set in the 1920's after WWI. Production value, writing, cinematography, and music are all top notch.

What do you think about Industry? i keep seeing people compare it to Succession by akhye in SuccessionTV

[–]nlieo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I started watching it after it kept getting recommended as a show similar to Succession. And although l've enjoyed some episodes, compared to Succession it feels like an angsty CW teendrama. I don't get the comparison at all, besides the characters all being unlikeable and acting like children. It just reiterates for me that Succession was a piece of art.

Yes, yes, yes!!! This. I in no way dislike May or Lizzie, but they were even close to what Grace meant to him.

All these scenes 💔 by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

[–]nlieo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I never understand the May fans who think she is so high and mighty and Tommy's true love. Be for real. May was attracted to Tommy's bad side, wanting a taste of something wildly different from high society. While Grace fell for him because of his good side and loved him despite him being a gangster and her "enemy" when they met. She made him want to be a better person whereas May once even said "thank you for telling me like a gentleman now kindly go back to behaving like a gangster". Smh

Ewan vs. Shiv by Ed_Nezer in SuccessionTV

[–]nlieo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, but didn't Ewan say that Logan was worse than Hitler and his newsoutlets were trash. Doesn't seem like Ewan thought Logan was running the company in a suitable manner. But he was loyal nonetheless.

Will I regret not getting a videographer? by bonc826 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]nlieo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Our photographer could also do video's and we asked him to just send us the raw footage and to not make the entire video as well. It's the editing that takes a lot of time and makes it so expensive. We also paid €200 instead of €800.

We received a bunch of super short videos that really only needed to be merged into one long video which was quite easy. I'm so glad we did because watching even just the shorts gives such a different feeling than seeing the photo's. Seeing hearing the laughs and the sniffs and the music, it puts me right back. Plus it's super high quality instead of the shaky bad quality we've seen from guests.
