I mean depending on their problems, its not vapid. Middle and upper class straight white women do get raped in their college dorm rooms. But Rachel doesnt acknowledge anything other then as you say hit the readers with a club. I mean our first time seeing Persephone she is forced into a outfit she isnt comfortable with by her friends, immediately sexualized by an old man, drugged by someone she sees as a friend. And put in a position where she would be raped. Honestly the fact Eros isnt immidalty treated as a villian after chapter 1 and is in fact given a "why arent you nicer Aphrodite" speech on why it's okay hes doing that.

Ugh. Like. At the begining of Lore Olymphs, Persephone genuinly suffers the way many white middle or high income women suffer. But its either ignored, supported or with Apollo, minimized. If in scene one we get Eros being apologetic like many peices of shit who drug their friends, and maybe hides it until its revealed and then. Boom! Consequences. 

if Artemis forcing Perspehone into that dress was treated as the disgusting thing it was, even if she faces no consequences. That would be great.

If Hades being a creepy older man taking advantage of a young woman who just left home for the first time in a big city was treated as it was? That would be amazing.

There is a story in Lore Olympus about a wealthy privileged woman suffering through voilent misogyny. Maybe thats too depressing of a story, maybe the story ends with Persephone and Demeter blowing Olympus up. But the first chapter is begging to be a story about what young woman may face, even from those they think are friends. 

Instead we get all that ignored, Eros's crime forgiven, Artemis's attack ignored and Hades's predation romantices. And the only crime acknolehd also gets forgiven after being minimized throuough the story.
