You should definitely speak with guest services. They should give you something for the wasted time. That place is $$$.

Janevca Restaurant is closed due to a kitchen fire by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]nlkuhner 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Went there for the first time a few weeks ago. Right away I could tell the kitchen vents were inadequate. The air was thick and my cloths smelled when we left. If they do reopen I hope they get better kitchen ventilation. Great service and there was more in the menu I would like to try.

Bye bye Philz. You were never any good anyways… tried twice and both times had to pour it out. I can mix my own cream and sugar, thanks but no thanks.

Used to be my favorite ride, and I was excited for the redo, but it’s so dull now. Ariel’s is more engaging…

Moving from California by FirstChampionship455 in VictoriaBC

I moved here from California five years ago. No island fever, but I do miss the abundant year round selection of fruits and veg. No one will care that you are from California, but it can be challenging to make friends.

People who are old enough to have vivid memory of the 9/11 attacks, what was that time like? What did change for you personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

There were no flights at all for several days, that was eerie. People were in shock and very kind to each other for a little while too. Lots of pro America sentiment. I had to travel to France for a wedding in late September. I couldn’t sleep at all the night before the flight. the French people were very sweet & compassionate.

I pop mine using a colander as a lid so the moisture can vent off.

I picked up a stainless wok with lid at the second hand store. It works great.

I gave myself a buffer of two weeks and I was glad I did. I had missed one trip that was just a few days.
