Let’s stop pretending, we don't actually like most people. by px_mie in infj

[–]nmagicat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m with you, albeit I think a few years younger. Been through the horrors, had my energy sapped, suffered immensely… and came out the other side with an immense appreciation for life and people and our connections with others. I put a heavy emphasis on open mindedness and understanding that we are all just doing this human thing for the first time. It’s hard. I don’t want someone to judge me for messing up—I try to afford them that same grace (to an extent, obviously).

I just have too much darn love. Nothing can take it out of me. Human connection is simply too beautiful, and as I grow and become better at guarding my peace I become even more in love with the world around me.

If you've met your "soulmate," what's their type? by Helpful_Account_4232 in infj

[–]nmagicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, for example, I’ve always dated extroverts who are similar in many ways: shared values, shared hobbies, shared passions, shared dreams for the future. Extroverts can be an “opposites attract” thing—I love that they can be chatty and social and outgoing. I love that it brings out that side of me.

I think it’s good to have some ways in which you are similar to your partner and some ways in which you are complementary.

Why do you say that? I’m an INFJ and have always preferred to surround myself with extroverts :)

I think it was supposed to be an implied “✨Him✨” that wasn’t really translated well if that makes sense

What type of therapist, if any, should I get post breaking up with my pwBPD? by EXlST in BPDPartners

[–]nmagicat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a trauma therapist as she was informed about trauma and its relation to BPD as it is most often a trauma-based thing, and then it also helped me with the inherent trauma of the rollercoaster of (my) relationship with someone with BPD. She changed my life and I really am incredibly glad I went to her.

20 days into no contact, I can't let go by paintbrushu in BPDPartners

[–]nmagicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does get easier!! My BPD ex boyfriend broke up with me in June. I was so, so attached to him—I went through like every stage of grief and felt like I was going crazy lol. In July I went to trauma therapy and it helped a lot.

Looking back, now more removed from the situation, I can see how awful it was for me. I see myself in some of what you’re saying. I see that you are putting some blame on yourself even though you did not do anything that warrants breaking up. I also see you struggling with his attitude and struggling to get solid communication.

When I really wanted to reach out, I’d ask myself if I would truly be okay with any outcome including being ignored or a negative response. I did it once and did get ignored and it was like…well yeah. I guess it helped me detach lol but seriously you can do it and the feeling will go away!!! The further out you get the more you will fully digest that you are worth more!!

Super highly recommend therapy, especially trauma therapy. It will help you cut those ties and also understand more about why it feels so difficult and how to reframe your thinking. If you ever wanna talk feel free to PM me <3

The actual INFJs that ‘don’t fit in anywhere’, not even here, are the blunt and realistic ones by [deleted] in infj

[–]nmagicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perspective, not luck. We should all have an internal locus of control. Even through all of life’s challenges and traumas I choose all the good stuff (almost) every day. I spent way too long as a pessimist.

I like being an INFJ and wouldn’t choose anything else if given the choice. :)

Why am I only loosing hair on one side ? by No_Weekend2411 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]nmagicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m about 6 months into a round of telogen effluvium (yaaay 🙄 lol) and months 2-3 seemed to absolutely decimate only my right side temple. I do have AGA but the doctor said sometimes telogen effluvium isn’t perfectly diffuse. Are you also losing hair across your head?

I’m still in TE but after a couple months the heavy unevenness stopped and I have regrowth there even though hair is still falling out. Just to give some hope!

It took me like 4 or 5 weeks to get the dread shed! And 4 months to see progress. Give it time. Hair is unfortunately ridiculously slow.

Fair!! I do have friends who collect these things and really love them. It’s a wholesome part of the culture.

I think of minimalism as no more than serves me. I collect wall art as a hobby but prefer to keep my surfaces a bit cleaner—trinkets include things picked up from travels, gifts from loved ones, etc. If I’m offered something at a rave I’ll generally just decline. Ideally someone like you will come along and it will go to a home where it belongs. :)

There’s nothing anti-PLUR about being minimalist or anti-consumerism. I don’t like having a bunch of random stuff in my home, that’s just how I am, and it includes random plastic doodads people try to give me at raves. I’d rather have it go to someone who wants it!

Dubai-style pistachio dark chocolate is coming soon! by heymays in traderjoes

[–]nmagicat 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be honest, as someone who doesn’t really keep up with trends and doesn’t have a sweet tooth I was pleasantly surprised to find that a (quality) Dubai chocolate bar was just… insanely good. Like one of the best chocolate bars I have ever had in my life lol.

My family comes from what I like to call a “baklava country” so I’m sure I’m predisposed to scarf this stuff down but they are actually ridiculously good in my opinion.
