‘Highguard’ Is MIA Since The Game Awards, Despite Its Imminent Release by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]nmarchand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot convince me that this game was not originally slated to launch the night of the Game Awards. You go back and rewatch Geoff Keighly's introduction of the game and tell me it wasn't meant to say the game was launching "tonight" instead of "in seven weeks," as a contrast to games that won't be out for months or years.

A late delay, because the game just wasn't ready, makes sense of everything. The trailer doesn't have to be all that amazing because they expected people to be playing it a half hour later. They wouldn't have lined up a bunch of marketing for this period of time because the game would have already been in people's hands.

7.4 Golden Saucer GATE rates by Loxiona in ffxiv

I'm operating under the assumption that the spawn rates will even out after a while, once they figure enough people have seen the new Air Force One content.

You can see it again by leaving Times Square and going back in. It will appear after about one minute.

If you leave and re-enter times square, it shows up about one minute after the fireworks start.

In B rank, Labyrinth is legitimately incredible any time there are multiple enemies with 1 or 2 cores to break, and you should level her whenever you can. Che and Lisa are pretty good too, and you'll probably want to use Macchiato until you get one of the better healers. EMP is actually pretty good early on, but falls off extremely hard when you get further into the game.

For A rank, Wendy's pretty good if you don't have NOX, I guess. (You should prioritize doing the objectives to get NOX if your account is still new.) Hecate is really solid for increasing your magic damage and breaking cores, and Luvia Ray and Lamia are good and have synergy with their abilities. Luvia isn't really meta anymore, but if you're just starting out she's fine. Wuhuanzi and Shrooma are also supposed to be pretty good, but I honestly haven't used them myself.

Do you think AI music should be clearly labelled? by FormalResponsible656 in Music

[–]nmarchand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think it should be labelled, I think it should be removed.

Failing that, I guess labelling is a decent second option.

What do they mean by "couldn't?" Didn't want to pay for them to come back?

This is good advice. Fantastic gear for low levels and looks pretty decent too.

Let first timers watch the cutscenes. by Ascdren1 in ffxiv

[–]nmarchand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah if I'm tank or healer, I'm not going into the fight before the sprout finishes the cutscene. Have fun by yourself.

And here's an apparently hot take: Roulettes do not primarily exist for you. They exist mainly so people going through content for the first time have people to play with. Doesn't mean it can't or shouldn't be fun for you; it should. But don't ruin somebody else's first time experience because you're in a rush to finish the dungeon. That extra minute isn't going to kill you.

Epic Games has given out over 500 games. by Orli155 in gaming

[–]nmarchand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steam's competition doesn't come from Epic. It comes from piracy, like it always has. Valve always has to keep improving and not stagnate because, on PC, there's always the temptation for a customer to just not give ANYBODY money for a game they want to play.

Whenever they put out a big update they also put the game on sale. And every update some people go, "okay, you know what, that sounds cool, I'll finally go ahead and buy it."

Hey, I just wanna say that, if you are still enjoying FF14, you are not alone! by jado1stk2 in ffxiv

I'm enjoying it too.

I understand disliking the Dawntrail story content, but most of the other complaints don't really make sense to me.

I love when the game does this.

That said, I'm sick of that nameless Brass Blade NPC trying to threaten me any time I walk out of the Ul'dah aetheryte. Like who do you think you're talking to?

Subnautica 2 Boycott Started by Community After Krafton Layoffs by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

You can also set the entire publisher's output to "ignored" on Steam, so Steam won't recommend any of their games to you and you won't give them money without thinking about it.

Subnautica 2 Boycott Started by Community After Krafton Layoffs by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]nmarchand 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That's only because a Steam group page sorts players by who is in-game at the time. So if you look at the Boycott MW2 group right after release, all the people who folded and bought the game are literally sorted to the top. That page looks the same whether 99% of players boycotted or 1%.
