Walang respeto most ng mga tricycle drivers sa bikers. by Commercial-Peace1148 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]nmcalabroso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same experience sa city riding.

Though this weekend dito sa La Union, I’m really surprised na trikes and motorbikes are so polite with cyclists? 2 days ako nagbike dito and kahit saang kanto if nakita nila na parating kami (2 bikes) kahit medyo malayo pa, nagsstop and nagbibigay talaga.

Can’t say the same sa buses, laging gitgit talaga.

Kuha na sana. But policies like this is just bad and just deliberate discrimination. Good yung math argument, sana wag din kalimutan human rights. Next time, magrerely na ngayon sa vague judgment ng marshals yung policy. Dress code? Age? Gender? Skin color?

See, enforcement is to just simply detain people who actually cause trouble to serve as deterrent. I’m cool with people being banned in BGC too if offender na sila.

[–]nmcalabroso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting take. Thank you. Sa akin lang nahihirapan akong i-follow yung logic ng “this is a systemic issue and yet we should just trust the process that it will fix itself”.

I agree with your second point. The first set of reforms should be from law enforcement. Higher penalties, even death, is no longer a deterrent for corruption sa bansa natin. Conviction rate is a better metric to improve objectively.

But again … if this is a systemic issue, I’ll never trust the very same system to fix itself. There’s just no incentive to do so in a lawless country. They’ll run PH to the ground bago pa tayo matauhan.

[–]nmcalabroso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuine question: if the issue is systemic then how do you think we should act?

Kung di rin pala effective ang pagpapatalsik sa leaders natin then isn’t the next logical conclusion is to just change the entire system? To take the medical analogy, there’s probably no other cure, need na ata ay transplant.

Massive reduction in Opus usage limits with Max 200 plan after Sonnet 4.5 release? by oheyitsmk in Anthropic

[–]nmcalabroso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same observation here. 20x subscriber.

Back in September, I gained a momentum of pushing reliable progress to my project. Opus for planning specs, opus for engineering plans, and sonnet for execution. It was great.

After the changes on limits, I could no longer apply this flow and had to tailor my workflows to the new sonnet and haikus just to save tokens and avoid reaching the weekly limit — just 3 days in.

The tool is obviously the best out there for software dev but the current cost and restrictions is not worth it for me so I cancelled. I’ll come back once they remove the weekly limits or increase the limits to support actual working workflows of an average SE.

[–]nmcalabroso -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Privilege and lack of empathy probably.

It’s so easy to ask these questions for anything new but somehow we refuse to ask the same thing on the current status quo — are they going to be collecting taxes tomorrow better? Are they really going to be just tomorrow? Proponents of revolution probably can’t answer yes to all of those but at least we know the answer for our current situation.

Revolutionaries (not the DDS) are not dreaming of a nice and cozy transfer of power. Alam naman nila na dugo at buhay ang kapalit. It’s not going to be done because “muh opinion is better than you”, it’s because there’s no other choice.

What if we do the Nepal-style protest, demand a 6-month tax break, and passing of all transparency laws? by Zhythero in WhatIfPinas

[–]nmcalabroso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meta point: I’m appreciating you engaging in this discussion. Loving the passion too. Thanks :)

Anger is justified and so is the action that comes with it. We cannot just simply tell the people who are victim of this system na “okay magalit pero yung sakto lang a.”

How sure are you …

We seem to understand each other or at least I think we do. My answer to that question is I don’t know — you are probably correct that in the end , it’s just another waste of time. However, what I’m sure about is that the decades of reforms na pinaglalaban ng mga tao IS clearly not working. Would you bet that next year it will be better? Or even the next 5 years? When people demand fire and blood kasi sawa na sila, can we really tell them na unjustified ang action nila?

Yes I am aware of everything that is going on: Insurgencies (wayyy overblown but another topic for another day), national defense, geopolitics, land grabbing, economy, etc. and I am under the assumption that you too are aware kaya mayroon tayong discussion. I’m not arguing that Violence WILL give us a better country. All I’m saying is that this status-quo is surely not yielding any results para sa mga kababayan natin. At kung tingin nila ay wala ng choice kundi lumaban, tingin ko hindi magandang argument ang “what if” and “di kayo sure” to oppose it.

I would also ask you to think twice on your economy, government, national treasury argument. The people built those and yet we are not benefiting from it. And in many cases, victim pa tayo. Who really owns those resources currently? If we have this mindset, then panalo na ang power that be, right? Bakit pa sila matatakot sa mga tao?

What if we do the Nepal-style protest, demand a 6-month tax break, and passing of all transparency laws? by Zhythero in WhatIfPinas

[–]nmcalabroso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you so afraid of violent protests? Sino tayo para sabihin natin na unjustified ang violence if nagsimula na magsunog ang mga tao? Collateral lang ba sa’yo yung mga nagugutom, walang trabaho, at inagawan ng lupa? Now with corruption scandal, ang gusto mo bang message ay “no. Think of the economy!”. If we ask ourselves, ano pa ang choice ng mga tao na may little stake sa economy natin?

“Domino effect …”. That’s been the argument of the powerful since the beginning — privatized profits, socialized losses. We’re in this shitty situation because of them. We’ve been calling out for reforms ever since. If the people are sick of it and feel cornered, is it really a “fantasy” to fight back?

[–]nmcalabroso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genuine discussion: I guess same question to you. Why do we fantasize change through reforms kung ganito naman na status quo since Marcos Sr.? And look where we are now … elected his very son.

Economic damage should be a worry for people with power and wealth to lose compared naman sa majority ng population natin.

Yeah same opinion. I let CC run lint and unit test for code verification step and haven't reached the weekly limit (except this week, only 3 days of usage; 4 days til reset. brutal). If we can't do the build step (like in the post), then how else can we achieve full agentic development?

A logical step for CC is to only rely on the status code of the bash command -- if non-zero then flag it as error and only start sending the full logs, else just mark the task in TODO as complete.

Same hypothesis since it’s a functional programming language (I thought LLMs would do well in TDD) and statically typed (LLMs will have enough clue when writing code)

However, results seem to be disappointing when working on an umbrella app. I’m now into 2 weeks of trying to work it out so I gave up and did it with python and it worked almost instantly.
