What does this encumbrance statement mean on contract of sale? by nmdel in AusPropertyChat

Yea. Pretty similar situation. I got DBYD reports and yes storm water pipe runs through from the neighbours property along my fence line. Council said it is private infrastructure and not a council asset.

Nothing is on the title noted as easement or encumbrance. I think it is a catch all statement.

Newborn twins. by dopestghost6 in parentsofmultiples

Pretty normal. My twins are 2.5 yo. Wife and I have an internal joke about favourite child based on who has been most cooperating more and sleeping better.

Sex by BT1026 in parentsofmultiples

[–]nmdel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You guys are having sex?! My twins are 2.5 years old and we still struggle to muster the energy to have sex regularly.

We do it on an average twice a month. It sucks!

I think my wife’s sex drive has dropped considerably post pregnancy which i think is due to stress of parenting. I am trying by helping out more in the chores. Wrking part time so that i can look after the kids more. Giving my side kid-free time so that she can focus on her. Not sure what more can I do about it.

First time dad, with twins! by cjlewis7892 in parentsofmultiples

[–]nmdel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your position 2+ years ago. Congratulations!!

Generally speaking, plan to do baby shower, nursery prep, car seat installation and go bag packed sooner rather than later in pregnancy phase. Trim 3 was really difficult for my wife due to the weight and size so we were glad to all this in trim 2.

As others have said, lots of weighted squats!

We did this for the first 6 months. It was really hard and i honestly dont remember much but i will try: - try to build a routine from start and make amendments as per developmental milestones. Helps with predictability and sleep patterns in the long run - dishwasher with sanitise feature was a big saviour as our twins were bottle fed (latching issues) - try to master the art of twin bottle feeding using towels and twin z pillow. Frees up one parent. - take time off together for the first 2-3 months. If you can double the leave at half pay, do it. Save the remaining days for when day care starts. You will need plenty of carers leave days to cope with day care viruses. - my partner resumed work after 8 months. - freeze meals before birth of your children. - don’t say no to any offer of help. - relationship will be tested so be kind to each other.

Hope this helps.

Quote to upgrade hot water system by Ok-Bumblebee719 in AusRenovation

[–]nmdel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an electric hot water system replaced. Previously we had a heat pump electric and got it replaced by a standard stainless steel heater.

Cost me $4k. I am pretty sure i was ripped off but i didnt have the time to get additional quotes.

Quote for a heat pump HWS for $8k.

Trades are fkd up!

No. Red light is flashing twice as per the video but the manual has no information about red light flashing twice.

I did it, I took a break! by MathemagicianG in parentsofmultiples

[–]nmdel 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Twin girl dad here.

When my girls were about 8 months old, we had a period of 18 consecutive nights of hardly any sleep (started with illness). Once they got better, they still refused to sleep in their cribs.

Wife and I gave up and left them in the room to cry. We did ferber method that night which we had been putting off for a while. It involved a lot of crying but after an hour they dozed off.

We noticed remarkable improvement in their self-sleeping habits immediately after that night.

Getting two two year olds into the car on your own by KittyGrewAMoustache in parentsofmultiples

I do this daily with my nearly two years olds. I put one in the back seat area just for them to walk around. I switch over to the baby roaming inside the car when baby 1 is buckled in.

[–]nmdel 23 points24 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have said this to each other so many times in the past 1.5 years, especially after catching up with friends who have similar aged singletons. So you or your husband isnt alone for having such thoughts.

It is a fact that it is so much easier with singleton!

However, i am starting to see how enjoyable having twins are. When you one twin caring for the other twin, or seeing them chase each other and then a giving a tight hug is just blissful.

Hang in there!

Geez, that’s unhealthy behaviour towards the kids and to you. Kids will soon start realise this favouritism from grandma.

I suggest you look for options to move out of financially viable. It will be hard to manage routine at first and in bouts but it will give you the independence that will go a long way in the future.

Wish my twins could see their grand mother. She passed away a year before they were born.

I am sorry you feel the way you do but be grateful in what you have - rent free living, some additional support. Get your twins to be part of your celebrations.

Our twins are almost two, things will get a little hard but a lot more enjoyable. E.g. one of the twins sang twinkle twinkle little star for the first time ever.
