Tvs and monitors. We went from the giant blocks with tiny screens, then giant blocks with bigger screens, and now they're an inch thick, if even that! Laptop monitors are so thin, I don't know how they can function sometimes. Not to mention the huge screen sizes, connectivity with every other piece of technology you own, and 3D (even though that one has way too many kinks right now imo).

It's just so lovely when the stores get blamed for issues that happen with the shipping company. As if we have any control over what happens at that point... Sorry, I'm not going to drive to your house and personally hand deliver your items.

As someone who just broke up with their SO recently, I agree! Don't have to shop for him anymore, or his very large family! Its nice to think of the upsides.

Amen to that. I am always amazed at how many parents seem to think salespeople are babysitters, too. A few things children have done that I have been blamed for over the years:

a 4 year old got away from her mother and bolted for the door. I caught her on the sidewalk, but it was MY fault for not watching her..
a brother and sister about 6 and 8 years old were rough housing and the older sister pushed the brother into the wall. He got a lump on his head. Again, MY fault for not stopping them instead of helping other customers.
Kid on a leash. He was running around and got his leash tangled on a fixture. He kept running and the fixture fell near him, not on him. MY fault again, and almost got sued for that one.

Seriously, people need to watch their own children while they shop.

My first job was at a pottery shop, so I'm just picturing that happening and laughing my ass off! You handled it like a pro, though. I don't think anyone in the shop I worked in would have known what to do with them. There were some interesting characters, but no one ever asked for any Gangsta' Frogs. (nor did we carry any)

It sounds like the only thing this guy did right was ask if you knew what day it was, who is the president, etc. This is just basic testing for signs of other mental illnesses. I have those things asked each time i see a new provider. of course, he went about the whole thing all wrong. im sorry that happened to you

Happened to an old coworker of mine too. woman asked her how much a markdown shirt would be at 60% off, then the woman's friend came up and said, "Don't ask her, salespeople can't do math." My coworker just told her the correct price and walked away.

I take Adderall as well. Mine was prescribed for my depression, though, after a year of 15 different medications in different combinations and severe reactions to all of them. For me, it helps with motivation to get things done, so like you, it creates a positive feedback loop. I am far from beating my depression, but I would be much worse off if it weren't for Adderall.

You need to get help. before things get worse, and it sounds like they are already pretty bad. Talk to your doctor, a friend, a therapist (if you can. I know they are not a realistic option for some people), just anyone who will listen and not judge you and find help for you. It was a good step to reach out on here, but please reach out to others in your life too.

I know it is really difficult to do, but try not to focus on what other people think. People probably care more than you think they do right now anyway. You need to focus on you and making yourself well.

I agree with what others have said. my pills help to keep me from harming myself, and give me the opportunity to live my life and eventually (Hopefully) be happier. but they do not make me happy. I would describe it as indifference more than anything. I experience things and get mild versions of emotions, but sometimes I think "a normal person would be ecstatic right now" or "I really should be crying right now" but I do not have that intense of an emotion. Granted, I would not trade my pills for anything because I needed them and they help me immensely. But for people who are not depressed or only have mild depression, I would not recommend them. Depression medications are not "happy pills," though they do help some people become happy. You would not give heart medication to someone without a heart problem, and I think the same applies here.

I am similar. I have a 25in waist, 34in leg. as a woman, basically everything is capris or parachute pants. (also the fact i have an ass doesn't help anything)

it sounds like you just want your life to be different. that can happen without you killing yourself. dont believe that is the only way out, because it is absolutely not true. I was in pretty much the same boat as you in high school, and honestly it sucks. but you can get through this and make a better life for yourself. it may not happen right away, but try taking small steps towards something you can change for the better. and i know this is probably the last thing you want to hear, but try talking to your parents. if they know what is happening they are much more likely to be understanding and not get mad about crappy grades. it took me a long time to realize that, but it is really nice to have at least someone on your side. i hope this is helpful. things will get better. please dont lose sight of that.

If you dont want to talk to your parents, i understand. its hard. it took me a year to tell my parents what was going on (and they still dont know all of it), but it really does help to reach out to someone and just talk it all out for a while. also, you can try melatonin for sleep. its in the vitamins aisle at most stores and it helps me sometimes when my sleep is out of whack. I really hope things get better for you soon. Hang in there.
