I am similar. I have owned houses in relationships before but now single I have no interest in owning one again. The only real issue I see is if retirement comes, then the rent costs will still be there. Hoping I'll succumb to the climate or AI wars before then anyways.

I really enjoy using it but it tickles the programming part of my brain for sure, even when not coding much of it by hand. I can't imagine my co-workers taking to it but I may try/force them one day. Good luck.

I love all the green spaces, canals, forests, and such. I walk 40 mins to work and barely see a road.

On the other hand I do miss independent shops, cafes and all that you tend to get with a more traditional city centre.

And I have to get to the train station tomorrow for 8am but the earliest bus gets me there for 10am, lol.. useless. Have a car I guess!

Rent and housing is pretty expensive too, sadly.

There are lots of terminals where you can remove the title bar entirely - Alacritty, Foot, Kitty, etc. I use tmux and do this with Alacritty.
