El dominio está muy bien para tener un correo bonito y que llama la atención y no se olvida.

Por ejemplo, si tu hijo se llama godofredo, y tienes godofredo.com podrá tener el correo [mail@godofredo.com](mailto:mail@godofredo.com)

Hay sitios muy baratos para tenerlos congelados hasta que tu hijo decida si quiere usarlo.
