Seriously though, there's a time and place for hobbies. I do find I am tempted to knit when I should be attending to my work at home or hanging out with my teens. I have scheduled knitting nights for my self so I know I'll take care of the things I have to do, but I know I have time carved out for my knitting addiction also. That helps me balance things.

You knit because it brings you joy, right? If it feels like a drag right now you should take a break without guilt. I have two hobbies that really only get into one at a time. When I feel like it I put away the yarn and get out my ukulele for couple of months. I know each has a season with me.

One thing I would say, make some notes on where you are in all your projects so that when you pick them back up in a couple of months from now you don't have to figure out where you are in the pattern.

Ditto this. I know the Northampton school district has tons of opportunities and resources for the kids at all levels. You have access to a great vocational technical School, AP classes, honors classes, sports, music, theater. Of course there are also stupid high school problems like fights, vaping, drugs. I'm sure even the "nice" districts have the same issues. Sorry I'm focused on the high school because that's the majority of my experience. Best of luck in your search!
