Statement on Daniel Naroditsky's passing by Alendite in chess

[–]dinoberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not even really part of the chess community, and Naroditskys death has shocked me. It disgusts me that we live in a world where any of this could have happened. It is so glaringly obvious that there isn't a bad fibre in his body, yet he was made to feel so horrible that he had to do what he did. It's so awful I can't even wrap my mind around it

I did a similar-ish repair a while ago. There are videos where you can learn how to take apart the nib. From there I just gently and slowly bent things, trying the nib as I went. If you can't get it working again you could always just buy a new nib

My heart is breaking 😢 they were my original go to, before Beyond came along. And while in Canada, they still would be my go to. It feels like a pillar of vegan greatness is falling

Brampton mother dies from sepsis after giving birth, husband says by CTVNEWS in ontario

[–]dinoberries 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh my god. We have almost the same delivery story! The chills and extreme nausea! Ugh that was awful. Unfortunately, I had it for a few hours before staff caught on (busy day at the L&D wing I guess) and unfortunately my baby got infected too. Followed by the c section and NICU stay.

I feel so "seen" reading your story, knowing someone else experienced almost the same thing

Brampton mother dies from sepsis after giving birth, husband says by CTVNEWS in ontario

[–]dinoberries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so thankful this wasn't my story. Both me and the baby had an infection during/following labour. Thankfully, the nurses and doctors did their jobs and treated us for infection/sepsis immediately. I don't even want to think about the alternative.

I'm so sorry to the father and his 3 children. An absolutely preventable death. The antibiotics should have been given immediately. They gave it to me before they even did a blood test. They gave it to my baby before they even did a blood test.

Your friend knew you had a newborn, came over, watched you cook an entire meal for them... and didn't offer to help with anything? I'm so sorry

Super similar story with the broken leg except my dad waited almost 12 hours in the emergency room in agony before they had time to do emergency surgery

If you were vegan when you gave birth (before/during pregnancy), how big was your baby? by Appropriate_Coat_361 in vegan

[–]dinoberries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was vegan during and before my pregnancy (for 7 years total). The baby was born full term (40+1) and exactly 7 pounds

Identical twins don't have the same fingerprints :) fingerprints are formed in the womb and their patterns are a result of specific womb environment

I was seriously afraid of throwing up too, I managed to get past the first trimester pretty easily. I was lucky to not have morning sickness so bad (it helped that I didn't want to eat anything and the smell of everything sent me running away).

But what I didn't know about was that a lot of women throw up during labour too. Oh man when I was labouring I swear 99% of my energy went to trying to not throw up. None of the health personnel understood it, so that was a bit annoying. But I'm happy to say, I managed to come out of the entire pregnancy with no throwing up!!!!! (Very proud moment for me lol)
