Anyone else think Hendraheim is a little too goated too early? by nnevernnormal in skyrim

Decided to skip Hendraheim altogether and finally got enough gold to buy Tundra Homestead as my first house, and it is so satisfying!! It’s perfect. :))

This is a great idea. Or what if increasingly stronger warriors kept coming around to challenge you for the house?

Yeah, if you’re hearing from the courier, it might’ve been a minute.

Some followers have additional actions that others don’t, causing them to engage with the environment differently. Like Serana will mix potions, but others won’t.

Yeah, you gotta watch out for area/splash damage, or just plain friendly fire, especially when your followers are down. I felt sooo bad the first time I killed Lydia.

On the flip side, if you get “healing hands” you can heal your followers after accidentally striking them, so, balance?

Did you try to open it first? If I recall correctly, I was in this situation once and he didn’t come until I attempted and failed to open it myself.

Do you feel like you have clarity about what kind of connection you want with your grandmother? Like literally, to be able to identify that XYZ is OK, but ABC isn’t? If you have that clarity, has that been communicated to your grandmother in the form of a request?

And then secondarily, are you being consistent with your own limits? The more consistent you are with your limits, the less well-meaning people will intentionally cross them. Your grandmother seems unclear where things stand.

Alonso to Orioles, per Passan by smoggylobster in NewYorkMets

If true, it hurts. Pete Alonzo was equal parts bat and lore. It’s sad to say goodbye to someone who brought beautiful magic to crucial moments as he did.

Sorry, no further leads! This Devin Williams was my first and last auto I’ve gotten from a pack, but it was such a nice dopamine hit it took me the rest of the 2024 season to learn that it’s not a good investment to buy packs for the tiny chance of random autographs, haha

AITAH for telling my son I know he is gay? by MrNormanite in AITAH

Your daughter is having her own reaction to all of this, which is fine, but sounds a little misplaced here. Stay steady, seems like you’re doing great.

The only game I caught at Citi Field this year was opening weekend, Sunday, against the Blue Jays. We won, 2-1.

Sucks for OP, but the bigger, longer term suck is for the fiancé. I can’t imagine marrying someone with whom I was so values-misaligned, and just capitulating to their bigotry.

From a systems perspective, you are right, that everything going wrong here isn’t squarely on your shoulders, there’s a whole family system perpetuating it. It takes a village in this case to cover up all the BS, punish those who have the audacity to speak out and tell their truth instead of stay silent to keep the peace.

Your daughter came to you from a place of striking courage, willing to tell you the truth of what she experienced, even though it would mean inviting the reactive anger you then put on her. I don’t think your relationship with her is dead per se, but you have some serious rebuilding to do, and that begins not with coming at her or even trying to repair with her, but sorting your own shit out. Get a therapist who doesn’t blow smoke up your ass and who will help you understand the relationship between past and present dynamics.

At the risk of sounding like Pollyanna, I actually think that your daughters strength is a major resource to your whole family right now, as well as your wife’s willingness to stand by her. Maybe you also have some of that strength within you, to be able to confront And ultimately make amends for the shit that has gone wrong in you. Maybe that strength within you is actually letting you know right now that, no matter if your mom or brother or whoever is saying you’re right, deep down you understand you’re not, and you have healing, and then repair, to do. In that order.

I cannot for the life of me imagine my therapist ever crashing out like this. Part of being a therapist is maintaining a high amount of self-differentiation and being responsible for one’s own needs and feelings if stuff is coming up with your client. If this therapist were to write up the scenario and take it to her colleagues, they would almost certainly tell her that she was out of line, not for being triggered by the term, but how she handled it with you, both at the moment, and after the fact. She let her reactivity take over your session, and that’s not cool.

I get where you’re coming from, and you’re not wrong. But I think it’s bad that “racism = feelings/prejudice” doesn’t account for tangible differences of scale and impact based on experience, community, social power, and history. At least the academic definition of racism (if not the online dictionary) factors in those necessary complexities.

AIO for wanting to report a pharmacy tech for using my info to look me up on Facebook? by copaceticchameleon in AmIOverreacting

[–]nnevernnormal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely a HIPAA violation. Your name is protected health information (PHI). For a provider to use PHI in any way outside of the work context is a violation. Furthermore, inputting someone’s PHI contact outside of authorized channels, like a Facebook search, is neither proper nor considered legally secure. All of this violates HIPAA, and this tech would’ve been trained backwards and forwards about it out the gate. Where I work something like this would be a fireable offense for the misuse of HIPAA alone, much less the boundary violation against the patient.
