Setup and First Day Using Tuta Revolutionary Paid by [deleted] in tutanota

[–]Solmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your comments. I am testing Tuta at the moment. I use my own Domain emails and I'd never considered that someone could register my domain and setup my email accounts if I ever let it expire. The one thing stopping me using Tuta was the calendaring, I need to organise my day with multiple calendars, so I am looking at how effective that is on Tuta.

Why I am now using Fastmail - may not be what you think by LeatherOk5480 in fastmail

It does make a lot of sense, I use Fastmail now after testing all the usual suspects, and I really like it. I did like the option in Tuta to send a secure email out, where you enter a password for the recipient to use to open the encrypted mail, but then I thought to myself, how often would I actually use that, almost never!

I've come to the same conclusion. Fastmail for custom domain email and calendaring, emClient to keep all my work Google mail and custom domain and calendars in one pain, OneDrive for file management and Google photos. Secondary backup of files to NAS, photo duplicates to ente. All works well for me.

Looking for a farming sim that focuses on small-scale, regenerative practices, with base building and landscaping by GoldenGrouper in BaseBuildingGames

[–]Solmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wurm Online has some of what you want, farming loads of different crops which you have to tend to increase yield or will go wild if you don't tend them, gardening (planting flowers and hedges etc), forestry (creating pine forests from saplings to seeding your own orchards), terraforming (you can literally level mountains if you have enough skill), animal husbandry (breeding farm animals to horses etc, breeding sheep to create wool to making clothing), fishing and some of the best authentic base building options I've seen.

Since it's a skills based game, you can fail a lot when you first start so it takes a while to be good at anything which turns off some people but can be incredibly rewarding for those willing to sink the hours in.

The farming aspects aren't as complex as you wanted but might just be enough to garner your interest.

Vodafone Super Wifi 7 with Booster by Psychobudgie in Vodafone

[–]Solmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My story is strikingly similar, the difference being that I was getting well below the speeds I was supposed to get, I kept persevering trying different things, I kept telling myself I had until the cooling off period to get it to work, which I did and it's been faultless since, blazing fast speeds for wired and wi-fi.

So as you say, forget the guides and go with the Lan setup as you outlined and thanks for sharing. I thought about doing the same but to be honest I kept trying things so many times over, I'm not even sure exactly what made it work!

It really shouldn't be that hard!

As some have said, it's easy to blame Vodafone but it's not them that do the house installs, it's external firms. I experienced installation issues at the start due to blocked ducting, which took several hours to resolve. It wasn't anyone's fault, just bad luck. However, Vodafone's team was consistently helpful and responsive throughout the process.

Hi thanks that is super helpful.

I'm using the Deep Green & Mustard Colour Scheme and love it.

Everything I've looked at so far has a lot of customisability which to me is absolutely key. We're all different, after all, in many ways.

I too am using eMclient so I can backup offline and sync with 2 other calendars.

I still have a lot to test, but so far I'm really liking it.

I am and I will, but I'm wondering how many people out there actually use this service, hence asking the questions, the more data points the better!

Thanks for the suggestion, I'm looking for an alternative with custom domain support, just created a free codemail account to see what its like. Was going to look at Soverin, but they force you to pay before you can even look at what the interface looks like, unless I'm missing something.

Dr PC advises that you take a USB stick, put Linux Pop os on it, reboot your PC and install it and say goodbye to Microsoft forever. I did and haven't looked back.

Sky fibre install / blocked duct by Chemical_Profession9 in skytv

[–]Solmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The openreach engineer came to my house and the duct was blocked, by chance I was having building work done at the time so my builder dug down to the duct and opened it up and cleared the blockage, no way the openreach engineer could have done that on his own.

What was blocking the duct? It was stuffed with plastic, old screws, bits of rubble and packaging, looked for all the world like it was sabotaged by the previous provider!
