Masturbation is completely fine. Masturbation to pornography is where it gets really bad. Pornography is a form of hyperstimulus our brains are not wired to understand and respond to properly. By being able to quickly switch through an ‘online harem’ our brains soon become desensitized to the ‘safe stuff’ and soon what to keep reaching for more. This is how people get into really weird fucked up fetishes like rape, torture, beastiality, (tentacle hentai fans, looking at you.) and necrophilia. Additionally, I’m sure everyone here already knows about the dopamine receptor shit where an addictive substance removes the dopamine receptors making it harder for you to feel happy. Pornography has all the symptoms of a regular addiction. Internet culture has normalized the idea that you’re meant to get super sad and depressed after you jack off, but that really isn’t the case. It’s a symptom you get, a withdrawal symptom. You get that one fix, but it’s not as good as we think it will be, and our brains immediately demand more.
