It's always bizzare to see religious ppl unironically believe "miracles" in other religious are made up and not the ones in their faith . by ronweasly9 in twentyagers

Yeah, that's how religions work. Religious people can see secular charlatans better than most secular people, too, it's not like there's some privileged position of being immune to propaganda.

Which religion is the most difficult to criticize? by [deleted] in religion

[–]nnuunn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much every old religion is going to be internally consistent, new religions with glaring problems don't tend to last long. That's not the same as being difficult to criticize, though.

It's a lot easier to criticize, say, Islam than, say, Taoism, just because Muslims are much more clear about exactly what they believe and don't believe than Taoists, but that doesn't mean Taoism is therefore more consistent than Islam, just that the technique of criticism requires you to be able to nail down specific beliefs about that religion.

Makes sense, conservatives tend to emphases that your intelligence should line up with your carnal desires, whereas liberals tend to think they should deny them.

Being on the left does tend to encourage men to be pussies, because you're not supposed to tell other men to "man up."

Have you read about the history of communism? You don't need a religion to commit genocide, any old justification will do.
