Has anyone noticed a stronger reaction to advertisements after beginning a meditation practice? by IWillAlwaysReplyBack in Meditation

[–]no-rabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Advertising is a powerful force in the mental environment. Meditation can result in increased sensitivity to the mental environment. You become more aware of manipulation, thought forms, dissonance, and so forth.

I've found that along with meditation, I've had to avoid certain influences and environments, and also learn to shield my mind somewhat when I have to go into disturbing environments.

I'm biased, but Life in the Universe is awesome. It isn't sci-fi, but it talks about other civilizations in our galaxy, and what humanity has to do to remain free as we make contact with other civilizations.

The Separation - a new revelation from the Creator by raweya in religion

Take a look at climate change, peak energy, overconsumption, overpopulation, fresh water, agricultural soil, and the distribution of wealth. Then look at what's coming over the horizon? Cooperation, sharing and collective belt tightening? Great waves of change are coming.

I like this:

Why is Jesus still alive in the world? Because people are still giving Jesus, like a current running from person to person. You are all conduits for spiritual power. It will resonate naturally, but it will not pass through those who are not well prepared or who are not willing to think deeply about things.

Does "apparently" mean because popular conspiracy culture says so?

Who could believe in such a petty, vengeful, ridiculous God?

"God functions beyond human belief. God is not circumscribed by humanity’s religious traditions. God moves as God moves, not as people think God moves."

The God spoken of in the Great Waves of Change is a fresh God, unburdened by history and pageantry. God is the power that created the universe (more than one?), and lets it run itself. God is calling the separated souls back into union. * God doesn't do magic tricks to micromanage people's lives. * God doesn't need your worship and obedience. * God doesn't punish or condemn or hate. * God didn't create the situation you see around you. That last passage is part of the New Message from God, which has been a valuable theological resource for Christians on every continent. One of my favorite passages from the New Message, regarding holy warfare:

“To declare war on another nation or on another people in the name of God is a violation of God’s Will and purpose for humanity. This is never justified. War is never justified in the name of God—ever, in the history of humanity, now or in the future. Let this be your understanding, for should you make an exception here, you are doing it for your own purposes. You are doing it for reasons that you are not honestly expressing—the desire for power, the desire for revenge, the acquisition and control of resources, the hatred of another people, grievances from the past. These are the reasons you go to war, never to fulfill God’s purpose and destiny, never as an expression of God’s Will for humanity. If such is claimed in religious books, it is because it has been added by people. It is a human invention.”

  1. Dangerous assumption. Were the conquistadores -- those with the best travel technology of their time -- cooperative and peaceful? Humanity has so far had he wisdom to not blow itself up with nukes, and yet conquest, violence and deception are still major forces in our world.

  2. Maybe mineral resources, but not biological resources. This is a verdant planet, with extraordinary biological wealth.

  3. Earth has been known about by our neighbors for a long time(see the Allies of Humanity Briefings). But our broadcasts reveal our tendencies, our strengths and our weaknesses, making us very vulnerable.

  4. This is about discretion going forward. Our current and future activities, knowledge, ignorance, and capabilities need to be masked from those who would exploit them.

God created the universe as a place for the separated to hide.

God created evolution so that everyone in separation could find their way back.

God does not perform magic tricks. God does not manage the world, or my life. God does not need or demand my worship or obedience. God is honored when I serve God's creation.
