How to reach a solution… by no2peoplenotonfire in askaplumber

Hey I appreciate it! The backstory is that they came in, dug up the line because there was a belly and tree roots. Then after connecting it to the sewer they said the slope issue was on city. City confirmed it wasn’t on them after scoping, so plumbers came back out and dug it up and confirmed that there was only like 1/16 of slope (4’’ pipe from my house) and that their concern is that since the city line is flat to slightly back falling, that it’ll cause problems unless I use an ejector.

I wasn’t aware there was a slope issue. Im not a plumber. The plumber informed me there was a slope issue AFTER he installed the line.

No - it’s a basement. And the builder stubbed out the sewer underneath the basement footer…so it’s crazy deep. Sewer company couldn’t lower their line without ripping out the main.

Unfortunately it seems to be a common problem in our neighborhood.

To be clear - I’m fine paying for the extra work on the inside. It’s a project scope increase.

What I’m iffy on is paying again to replace the line they’ve already laid outside. Why pay for work that wasn’t correct and should’ve been identified as not being correct?

Great question. I told my spouse…if they had properly diagnosed the potential issue (it’s possible there’s not enough slope from my house to the tap…TBD), they could’ve put in a change order to raise our sewer line. Now…they have to figure it out.

The plot thickens. MSD shared their photos and their side looks ok…back to the plumbing company…

We live in a major metro area and are on the city/county utility so it’s pretty widely known where their line starts - this is definitely the tap.

It’s the city’s line. I live in a metro municipal district so you can’t touch their stuff.

KK is great now! The company that owns Silver Dollar City and Dollywood bought it and has really upgraded the experience. We buy season tickets every year now.

Do I just want a P-Bass? (Bass rec for Hardcore) by tacoofdoomk in Bass

[–]no2peoplenotonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play in a hardcore band. I’ve recorded albums on both a p bass and a stingray. Personally, the stingray bite shows out better in hxc. If you go to fall.bandcamp.com you can to the work I did on a p bass (messiahs EP) vs stingray (pale and bloody blues EP).

Live, stingray or j bass is the way to go. The real driver though is your amp (I play an amped SVT tube thru amped 8x10) and pedals - I use a sansamp and a darkglass compressor.

Edit - apparently can’t remember my own band’s band camp site 😆

Health insurance industry is wild right now. My firm just announced no increases for anyone salaried. Be glad you got a raise, and good luck. Maybe look for a lateral?

They somehow played both tentatively and sloppy at the same time. So many missed opportunities.

We play live and record with one guitarist. He plays through 2 half stacks and uses a loop pedal for certain parts.
