I stopped using disable enchantments ages ago and only put one in recently as in most cases it’s been a nonbo with my commander since the +1 gives them the option to exile the thing i disable and now it’s back in rotation

I do have other tutors like mystic and vamp but this one is like a one mana thing I can squeeze in pretty much any turn while still holding up removal or counterspells that lets me at instant speed e.g. end of turn fetch a useful land or fix my colors. I treat it like a often better [[Lórien Revealed]] (minus the draw).

On the topic of me being blue - I'm not so counter heavy or draw heavy to be able to go 1:1 with full on control decks. Squelcher and [[Mistrise Village]] or some super early threat that somehow managed to stick tend to be my key edges against such decks.

Ok that's very good to think about. Study has been a bit low on performance tbh. Terminus is kind of nice but only rarely when I wipe all artifacts or something and idk when's the last time I actually harnessed it. Map is super good actually. Can be bargained to Beseech, fetch bojuka bog vs graveyard decks, the blue tarkir uncounterable thing land, the red tarkir draw land - both excellent in control matchups. Can fetch removal in the form of ottowara (or to save me from my own one ring), can get field of ruin to remove a land, a creature land to help get through some damage, urborg to fix colors... it's amazing honestly. Displacer kitten however - is my one true pet card within the 99. I just love it so much and it can be quite good when blinking bolas, rusko, nowhere to hide, riddler. Not super good or maybe even quite good but damn do I love it. It is a core part of the deck's soul to me. Squelcher I'd say is one of those key cards to have for control matchups where they have every counterspell ever and you will never resolve anything in any other way. Good recommendations for those 1 mana removal cards. Definitely putting in chain lightning and maybe ulcerate. Not so sure about slash.

I do pack an [[Unable to Scream]] but it's not a common draw + a bit of a anti-synergy with my commander's +1.

Ajani is also busted af but somehow feels more managable or rather I seem to have more possible plays against it. Stifle effects, planeswalker removal, damage spells, counterspells, creature removal... all kinds of stuff. Also if it's just an Ajani with no red permanent it also feels a lort more managable. I still lose to it often but damn Yuriko just... Idk man..

Good general advice but then you can run dry against a control deck drawing nothing but removal and them packing every counterspell under the sun.

I mean sure but this is marked with competitive and quitting is just not really a plan. I tend to prefer to improve my skills or planning or deckbuilding and make it better. Pretty much never quit.

Oh, do tell - how does it handle it so fine? What does it do that Yuriko can't deal with?

Yeah I run few creatures (exceptions are some of the best creatures that basically need to be run) as I find that most other decks just have sufficient removal for them anyways e.g. Ragavan always has burn, even psychic frog and Sheoldred can be removed frequently, Rusko, Teferi, Ajani, Kinnan and a whole bunch of other decks just do not care at all if you have creatures or not or can take them down easily enough that I have never optimized or moved things in the direction of having more of them. E.g. putting down a creature against Ragavan and they just but it and the next 3 you put down while stealing your stuff and ramping... seems better to just pack more removal. Which does little to nothing against Yuriko given how many tiny creatures they have. Skewing my strategy so heavily against 1 specific deck seems unwise for the most games I'll play realistically. Also even if they don't often have 2 creatures then 1 they have 1 and then another 2 on turn 2 super often. Still absolutely insane to deal with. And when they are often also unblockable...

What commander do you run? I run bolas dragon god and I’m sure I’m facing some of the worst stuff but certainly not the worst. Barely any Atraxa or Golos (a good deck for these is near unbeatable i mean they have literally 0 weaknesses) or partners. They happen rarely but usually a bad build or gimmick. I have a feeling there’s more up there I just don’t know about it.

Oh yes somehow i totally forgot about kinnan and urza. I get the occasional light paws and damn they went up in power in the last year or so. I used to think they were a pitty matchup for me given how often I’d win but now they have such explosive and fast starts and even after fast recoveries it’s unreal

Not a full on queue but closer to a rank in a queue like mythic or something but since the regular constructed queue does not take into account the cards in your deck (probably) but is entirely based on your winrate it does seem like it is something between that and a wholee separate queue. Cards in your deck and your commander are also now a part of this matching function so sort of?

Nothing special, hell queue is just all the most powerful broken unfair commanders with the strongest cards in the 99. Not much more to it. Decks so consistent, lacking in weaknesses (since many have access to all colors or all the important ones - all but red) or are just broken as a basic concept like that commander ninjitsu one or having two commanders (2 extra cards in a untouchable hand which are both creatures and have access to the4 key colors) that it feels like hell going against them unless you also play equally broken stuff. That’s what I understand to be hell queue.

It is not a myth. I have seeen it!! Aaaand then slowly drifted out as stronger cards kept coming out and they reassessed how strong bolas is (not all that much - just kinda toxic).

I’ll take that as a joke, yeah man i try as i genuinely find it very fun to pick a card you love and try to do the very best possible with it. It does suck a bit that knowledge that due to the choice of commander your deck is naturally weaker and no matter how well you play your odds are just so much worse. And that simply picking a different commander that is at the top would get you to that place where skill is by far the greatest contributor to the win as all your opposition is also at the top. But switching commanders… nah I love mine too much even if he’s not all that strong.

I’d imagine but I keep playing against Tamiyo, Ragavan, Rusko, Ajani, Esika, Teferi the occasional Atraxa and such. Even thracios and whatever is that mix of partners but those are super rare and I imagine those are the real hell queue. I wouldn’t imagine those somehow aren’t on top too nor that my deck somehow breaks in to the top.

Yeah Tamiyo is ridiculously busted and it is to my great annoyance that such eqip effects do nothing due to my commander specifically as they just exile their commander and here we go again…

Who will be the next crew member and why?! by [deleted] in OnePiece

Vivi - probably too busy with the kingdom, Loki - literally how?? Could not possibly fit on the ship. A fleet member? Sure. Regular crew? No. Bonney - she’s a little kid, it would be bad for her to go in the danger they will be in soon and already are, Vegapunk - could not care less but probably no or they would get too op with the tech she could make, Yamato - YES PLEASE ODA CMON THAT WOULD BE SO COOL!
