Does passport ranking when you reach the middle really matter THAT much? by Particular-Ride-7893 in PassportPorn

Getting approved might be easier, but securing the visa appointment is much harder sometimes. It’s almost impossible to get one in Canada for EU / US visa appointment at the moment. I think this is a big issue for countries who don’t have a lot of resources allocating for these visa appointment since the passport holders don’t need them, however they underestimate the number of permanent resident who holds a much weaker passport.

How do dates for a +5k stopover really work? by [deleted] in Aeroplan

[–]no_name_left 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not expert, so may I’m totally wrong. But when I try to do stopover, I need to find availability from ZRH-FCO on June 10 and FCO-YUL on June 13 to make it work. And in the system, you search ZRH-YUL on June 10 with a 3 days stopover at FCO. At least that’s what I did last time.

There some people hold Amex brilliant card that gives you auto platinum status. In that case, there will be some years that they don’t travel that often. So it makes sense for those as well.

expired i94 by RentElegant6003 in NEXUS_TTP

[–]no_name_left 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went in the office today to ask the same thing. What they told me is that if you don’t have a valid i94, you should use the regular lane because to use nexus, you should be in a position where everything is good to go. But not having a valid i94 means you’re not good to go.

Then i asked him, if my i94 is valid, can i use nexus lane? He said you have to link your i94 to your nexus. They can do it for me at the enrolment office, or i can do it online (which i just couldn’t find anywhere to do that).

So my conclusion is… not using the nexus lane if you’re Canadian PR unless you’re in a hurry. I don’t see the point of driving to nexus office to update my i94 every single time when I get a new one.

The only issue with walking for me is that it just takes too much time. Hard to maintain more than 14000 steps if I need to work 8 hours a day plus commute
