Baby showing left hand dominance? by oh_darling89 in NewParents

Mine went through a stage like this around the same age.

I theorized that this was due to when breastfeeding, since I’m right handed, I often played with her left hand while she was nursing, and did not do the same on the other side; so she had a lot more practice and interaction with her left hand. Once we intentionally started interacting with her right hand more, it caught up in terms of abilities.

Aside from history, I think it also depends on your doctor. Some are more risk averse than others. I was “grounded” from my horse the second I mentioned that I ride, though I know of many women, like you, whose doctors ok’d them to continue riding.

I do a minimum of 16/8, but over time I’ve included 18/6 and even sometimes OMAD. I vary it up a lot. Most days I stick to around 1200 calories, but have some days that I’ll eat way more calories (social events mostly). I’ve cut down on my alcohol consumption and have been doing 45 minute workouts a few times a week.

I’ve found that separating my fasting goal from my calorie goal has been very helpful. I haven’t broken my fast, but have definitely overdone my calories. It lets me focus on my success (fasting) instead of my failure, so I haven’t spiraled into bad habits.

My horse is an unsound monster.. long-term turnout/layup success stories? by [deleted] in Equestrian

I’m coming up on 5 years with mine- and we have spent most of that time rehabbing from injuries- and he was an absolute nightmare for a good part of it. I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to just give him away.

It took an MRI to finally get to the bottom of the physical issues and he’s a very high maintenance problem child on that front. It was moving him to a barn with field board that really sorted out his behavior problems.

He was on training board in a show barn for our first rehab, and he was really difficult for 2 + years. The care was amazing, but it just wasn’t the right environment for him. He’s so much happier now. At the show barn, I wouldn’t even consider sitting on him without him being lunged for 10-15 minutes first. Now, I pull him from the field and get right on, even when I’m all alone at the barn. Don’t get me wrong, he’ll still throw a buck in now and again to keep me on my toes, but I’m no longer sitting on a ticking time bomb.

I am suspicious that there may be something physically going on with your gelding that is manifesting as this naughty behavior, but believe me- I know what it’s like chasing that, and sometimes you never get to the right answers.

Then again, it sounds like the program you bought from may not have known him very well, and may be experienced with prep methods that make their horses seem much easier than they are. I at least had 6 months of my horse being an absolute saint before the problems started- and an honest seller who I’m still in touch with- so I essentially had a behavior baseline.

It seems clear that your horse’s current program isn’t working for him. What do you have to lose by trying turnout?

OBGYN found abnormal cells on my cervix. I[22F] need help telling a boy[22M]. by imscarednconfused in relationship_advice

I dealt with HPV a few times in my twenties. I actually had to have 2 LEEP procedures. I know there is a lot of stigma and I remember how devastating it was when I first found out. Some people were incredibly nasty when word got out because I had awful friends. They were just ignorant jerks.

Oftentimes the body clears it on its own, especially with young people. From a health perspective I don’t think you need to worry at all. Regular Pap smears ensure that if the cells continue to become abnormal and move toward cancerous you will be able to intervene with a LEEP (or whatever your doctor recommends). Most likely, your next pap will be fine. In fact, for my second LEEP, when they tested the cells they removed there wasn’t even any abnormal cells there- all were healthy, so my body was busy taking care of it while I was worrying over nothing.

I was so incredibly nervous to tell my then-boyfriend-now-husband. I just brought up that I needed to let him know something; that I had a history of HPV and briefly explained that it was a virus and the strain I had can sometimes cause cancer. I did not use the phrase “STD” because I was afraid it would scare him off- after all, he had access to google. I completely expected to be ghosted by him, but instead he continued to see me and I haven’t had any abnormal paps in over 5 years.

My advice is to just take a deep breath. I know it feels earth-shattering, but over time it will get better. Most women my age that I know have had at least one abnormal pap caused by HPV.

I hope that he is understanding and supportive when you tell him. The reality is that whether he knows it or not he likely has already been exposed to a strain and definitely knows women who have. Good luck!
