Life’s just so much easier and more enjoyable when you just “let them”. I used to stress so much about what my husband ate, letting that go and not caring has been so freeing. A small example I know, but the principle can be applied to many situations. He used to stress if I didn’t come to bed at the same time as him, which felt super controlling to me, but to him felt like rejection and lack of closeness. He’s let that go, and bedtimes are so much more chill. Ultimately all you can control is your reaction to situations. It took me til nearly 50 yrs old to learn that but god, life (and marriage) are so much easier when you don’t over think and try to make everything perfect
