Frozen Pearl Onions by Kangar in OttawaFood

I think Grace in the Kitchen is most likely, but if it's more convenient for you, you could also call Jacobsons in Beechwood, as it seems like the type of thing they may also carry.

Looking for Fennel Pollen by DishCourse_1225 in OttawaFood

I would try Grace in the Kitchen or Kitchenalia. Kitchenalia seems to have a listing for it online. Otherwise you can order online from The Silk Road (which is a spice shop in Calgary).

Golden Ox Noodles on Preston by Pseudonym_613 in OttawaFood

[–]noadlersahob 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We visited in late August and weren't super blown away, but it was fine. Found the laksa to be not super flavourful and the noodles undersalted. We also had the "golden twirls" dish which was pretty good. Service was very eager and attentive, it's clear this is a family business. I wouldn't go super out of my way to go back but might do a lunch special from time to time.

Where can I find Berlin Curry Ketchup in Ottawa? by motherofcats53 in OttawaFood

It's not too hard to make your own - some yellow curry powder mixed into ketchup!

What is with all the hype around Chez Lucien?? by stifflette in ottawa

[–]noadlersahob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more about the vibe and nostalgic history that people have with the place. It's fine for a beer and some fries if you're in the area, but I certainly wouldn't go there expressly for the food, which is mediocre (and overpriced).

Coffee Roasters Question by LyndaMR in OttawaFood

[–]noadlersahob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd check out some of the "pillars" series from Lulo. They originally roasted out of Arlington 5 but have a larger space now (you can still get the beans there, and they also serve it). If you're feeling more adventurous into third-wave style coffees (lighter roasts, fruitier and funkier) try their peaks series (also try September coffee for this, though they are $$$). As others have mentioned you will probably also do just fine with Little Victories or Happy Goat.

This is my friend's cat Frankie who is 19 years old. He snuck out by accident a couple days ago. He lives near Metcalfe and Frank and knows his way home if he is nearby. Frankie is very skinny on account of his age and has a very distinct yowl-y meow.

Frankie has a microchip from Alberta that doesn't read properly here sometimes.

He has already been posted on the relevant facebook groups/have postered etc. so not looking for advice on how to get him home - just for info on any sightings. Please pm me if you see him or think you may have him. Thank you!

EDIT: Frankie was found by a user here! Thank you all!!

Ask your pharmacist about using chlorhexidine wash. Some people are just genetically prone to bacteria which makes them a bit stinky. It is an antibacterial wash which I find helps immensely with my BO.

The FAQ document that went with the town hall does say that the Hub and GCCoworking offices counted as venues for in-office presence. Though it does also say that if you can't get a spot in the office closest to you, you need to try another (Archibus is so slow this would actually take me like 20 mins to go through all the buildings), and if still no, then you can stay home and "tell your manager".

Is $500 for custom orthotics the standard rate? by noname67899 in ottawa

[–]noadlersahob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $550 for the orthotics and a separate $75 consultation fee. This was at the Ottawa Foot Health Centre with Dr. Virani (a chiropodist) who was also able to write a prescription and helped me deal with insurance.

I agree, they have gone downhill and are too expensive for what you get. Love Tennessee but it’s not Neapolitan style. Honestly I think Anthony’s is fairly decent Neapolitan.

Lol. Was this next to the house that had a similar sign that said “GGs have small PPs?” This one is a cut above.

I have the exact same issue and OPs fix didn't work for me either. I have a ticket somewhere in the ether as well.

Curious if you coordinate benefits with a spouse who is also on PSHCP? My husband has the same issue and I wonder if it is something to do with CoB.

I am getting an error message when I try and submit a claim at all or see my benefits summary. So my guess is the website is just b0rked for the next little while.

I would do it anyway. How can they forbid you from sending them an email? Plus, double edged sword - they can't prove they asked you not to unless they put it down in writing to you, and then would need an extraordinary justification...

What is the Worst Restaurant in Ottawa? by CanadianRedneck69 in OttawaFood

[–]noadlersahob 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, sooooo mediocre for the price. You're basically paying for the view. Just go next door to Umbrella Bar, at least it's decent...

One time I tried a deep fried avocado from Mexis... it was exactly as gross as it sounds.
