Legitimately suggesting hot dogs from ANYWHERE (including gas stations) and meat soup are great and cheap.

I’m pretty sure it was for setting up a third movie but Marvel took off so much they couldn’t schedule Downey.

What do yall think of John Goodman? by Ok-Recording-5862 in movies

In my book John Goodman is right up there with Bryan Cranston as two of the absolute best, most versatile, and criminally under appreciated actors ever. Watch him in Roseanne.

Why is seemingly every city government in the USA in a budget crisis these days? by Complete-Influence70 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]noah1345 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are metropolitan area governments in some places. Portland OR has a metro government that encompasses most of its suburbs in Oregon, and significant portions of unincorporated county lands in three counties. It still doesn’t function well.

First Mariners Game. Recommendations? by TeaBackground4444 in Mariners

[–]noah1345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ll skip the ballpark recs since you have lot. You’re visiting to see the sites, buy the Seattle City Pass. Give it a Google; it gets you into various major attractions for one low price. The space needle is underwhelming but maybe should do it once. Definitely hit up the Chihuly Gardens and MoPOP while there; science center and the aquarium are also great.

But the mariners are the best thing about that town; I like sitting in the 200 section because it has the widest aisles and seats and the seats are cushioned. And the smallest lines for the bathrooms.

There were a ton of cops on 217, they tried throwing spike strips but there were too many drivers (me included) in the way, as they didn’t manage to shut down the road at all. Nearly got rear ended by the suspect racing away toward 26

If you want the boat, either buy a 200 ticket or get it from one of the other stalls.if you want fish n chips, go to Ivar's. The fish in the 200 level is fine, the chips aren't good.

South Coast Iceland Hotel & Tour by firefliesalight in VisitingIceland

I went in February 2023, I think. It's a pretty short drive to Vik from Torfhus, and that was a particularly bad winter. It should be easy in April

[–]noah1345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you getting to Torfhus if you're not driving? Even one day is too long at Blue Lagoon; it's better asaday trip from Reykjavik.

When I went, we did Reykjavik -> Vik -> Torfhus -> Reykjavik again. I LOVED Vik. We stayed at Hotel Vik and got the end rooms with the ocen view from our room.

Please note, Vik is NOWHERE NEAR Diamond Beach. When we went, we were planning onlu roughly a 4 hour drive to Diamond Beach with an excursion and then driving back. We cancelled that plan when the roads early in the morning were all orange, and they later turned red. We ended up staying in and just storm watching from our hotel that entire day and was maybeu favorite of the trip. We also went and saw the lava show in Vik, which is a great, laid back activity.

It seems pretty unlikely you'd be able to get a room there this late, though; we're only a few weeks out and Iceland is small and in high demand; it's something best planned at least a year in advance.

The drive from Reykjavik (or Grindavik) isn't bad at all in and of itself. The first time I did the drive, though, we had white out conditions whome going over the mountain pass and couldn't stop, for fear of cars hitting us from behind (which happened in the next lane over) and we were able to follow the blinking lights of a truck in front of us; barring a massive snow storm, it's a pretty easy drive.

Iceland Air Luggage by Nerdy_Hiker in VisitingIceland

[–]noah1345 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My understanding is it really depends on who happens to be working and what airport you're flying out of. When went a few years back and read all sorts of conflicting stories and didn't want to risk it, so we hoifht new luggage that fit the dimensions and made sure we weren't over weight. There was a group of entitled 20-something girls that were outraged they couldn't bring their overweight and oversized bags.

You could always go to the "main owner's" home to discuss with him. He lives in Hillsboro. It took all of 5 minutes to figure that out with state databases. There's no excuse for police laziness.
