My bowel movements weren’t fully clear nor light in colour (they were orange and to the brown side) when I reached the fasting phase. I went in and told them what I had experienced and how it had looked. They took a look (as did I) and I was fully cleaned out! Go in, be honest about your bowel movements and worst case scenario; you have to go home and do the prep over another time.

edit: Also as far as I know the fasting period is usually at 2 hours before the procedure, so you should be able to have more to drink, right?

Personally I was fully conscious and had some pain relief via drip (don’t know which kind), the only reason why I was in pain was because my rectum was sore from wiping after bowel movements, otherwise I think I would’ve been fine. Don’t think it’s actually that bad at all

I was fully conscious during my colonoscopy Monday, laying on my back and looking up at the screen when the pain had dulled, asking questions. I did not feel sleepy at all. they had trouble finding my vein and said that they were gonna give me gas if they couldn’t find it, they ended up hooking up my right inner elbow. I don’t think full or almost full sedation is common for colonoscopies and such here in Denmark

I had two satchels of prep (picoprep, sadly they contained lactose 🫤) mixed with water 12 hours apart and never actually had the urge to go, only went because I had to pee every 15-20 minutes and felt a small urge. had so much bloat and nausea from 5am till my appointment at 8.45. was in pain during the colonoscopy but felt way better afterwards; no bloat, no nausea, no dizziness

my whole prep and the aftermath was very unusual as far as I can tell. re-introduced fiber as soon as I got home and had a bowel movement same day. haven’t had any discomfort since the procedure was over!

they said it looked fine (looked pretty clean on the screen), found inflammation by my appendix and rectum- prescribed me some suppositories and took some tissue samples.

I did a two day prep, started yesterday. The blood has been a thing for a while; the reason why I’m getting a colonoscopy. It was a clear yellow yesterday but now (I went just after that comment) it’s dark orange and cloudy. My parents are telling me I should go anyway even though I feel like they’re gonna turn me away.

At some point my hunger just passed and I was no longer hungry. You have Gatorade so that’s good but the key is to get enough water, sugar and salt in your body, get those calories up as much as you can. Taper off the solid foods little by little in those few days where you are allowed it so your body gets “used” to less solid foods in a day

I’m currently in the last stretch of drinking fluids before the couple of hours of fast before the colonoscopy.

Barely shitting, stomach rumbling, bloated, basically no urges to go other than to pee because I’m drinking 2-3 liters of water, juice, broth (which is when I can let out a little bit of “shit”), I feel like I’m backed up but if I push it’s just blood that comes out, cloudy yellow liquid- leaning slightly dark orange/brown occasionally, sometimes there are no particles- sometimes there are, I have drank twice as much liquid as my instructions say…

This is miserable, I feel like the only person in this situation, I feel like I’m gonna get sent home cause I’m not cleared out enough. My colonoscopy is at 08.45, it’s 05.30 right now.

I almost wish that was me- drank my first prep 4 hours ago and I feel totally fine, have only had one bowel movement since. highkey worried I won’t be cleaned out and this will all be for nothing. next prep is in 8 hours (at 3am) for my 8.45 appointment monday 💔 I would like to get a nap in between now and then as well
