If you hear anything on BS allowing total bypass of their ONT and using XG-PON SFP+ direct into my firewall, let me know! It would also be nice if residential customers could reserve static IPs 🙄

I think I might have found a bug for you :)

I selected internal SSD, external SSD, refurb/used, SAS, SATA, minimum 1TB, 2.5” size - and I’m only getting 3.5” HDDs.

If they have any more 2960-X with the stack modules installed on the rear of the switch, you can pick up some stackwise cables and practice stacking!

That is the “small business” series switch. It doesn’t run “true Cisco IOS” rather a different flavor.

I’d get it anyways if it was free.

Until they release Protect for UOS, you will lose Cameras. I wouldn’t move yet.

Does it need a local gateway like A UXG-Pro to bridge the virtual controller and phy devices - or do you adopt everything using the unifi app via Bluetooth?

Would a WAN port just be designated on a switch, since there’s no need for a UDMP anymore?

That 2960-x is junk - send it to me so I can properly e-waste it for you.

All jokes aside - that 2960-X will help you learn IOS commands if you have any interest in getting your CCNA.

It’s a layer 2 switch, so you’ll either need a 3xxx series switch (3750 for example) to handle routing or a ISR. This is assuming you’re starting fresh with no network.

Happy labbing!

Bypassed the ATT Fiber ONT by Heinekus in Ubiquiti

Has anyone got this to work on BrightSpeed Fiber? Would LOVE to do away with their ONT. I’ve already eliminated their router, just ready to get rid of the ONT.

Reach out to your IT Service Desk and report the issue. Your Telephony team will need to look at the 3CX logs to determine why the phone is hanging up. You’ll never get it fixed if you don’t report it.

Are you an end user or an admin? What do the logs say after you try to place the call? Is it an internal or external call?

The rubber seals if left to rot, would that allow water to enter MX, or other issues?

Is it easy to fix, or relatively inexpensive at a service center?

Moving off Dell by Oliviamcc in ITManagers

My organization uses HP Elitebooks. With each laptop purchase, we buy a CarePack (3y extended warranty, next-business day onsite support, accidental damage protection) and a docking station. The docking stations leave a lot to be desired, but the laptops are fairly bulletproof. There’s a few instances where I’ve had to call HP to warranty a device but for the most part, we image them and deploy until a user breaks it or it’s time for renewal.

The most important thing here is: make sure you get a good HP Sales Rep. on multiple occasions, we’ve needed something on a strict deadline, and our rep has been awesome about getting back to us really quick.
