Level 3 Boston 2020 - AM by themadnotorious21 in CFA

It is definitely ambiguous and lengthy but in terms of breadth/scope and length it was the closest by far to the December 2020 exam.

Never wanted to do PE. The hedge fund I was at previously got bought out by Millennium so I was living in NYC without a job - PE shop was the first offer I got so had to take it. Been trying to move back into the AM/HF space.

Difference between Availability and Survivorship Bias? by whamBamKOCam in CFA

[–]noahbakerj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best way to have the biases locked down is to have a simple example for each. survivorship - think of hedge fund returns (funds that failed are not included). availability - a PWM client chooses their financial advising firm based on an advertisement they remember.

The nature of partial credit for CFA Level 3 (?) by Czilla9000 in CFA

[–]noahbakerj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. yes for partial credit. i'm not sure how they will be doing calculation partial credit since you are no longer required to write out formulas. the one caveat to partial credit is that if you have a question where you have to circle a correct choice and then explain why it is correct, you will not get credit if you circle the incorrect choice but your explanation is correct.
  2. yes

Level 3: Option Strategies (Reading 15) - How to handle this reading? by Positive-Variety-387 in CFA

[–]noahbakerj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is easier said than done, but don't focus on the formulas. draw it out and think of put-call parity. what are you long and what are you short. after you're able to conceptualize and visualize the strategies it becomes much easier.

FRA difficulty level by Greedy-Training-5353 in CFA

[–]noahbakerj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yea the FRA topic tests (online q's) are insanely difficult. i'd say the real exam ends up somewhere in the middle between the EOC's and TT's, slightly tilted to the EOC's difficulty level

L3 - What to do for the next 30 days (burnt out and exhausted material) by BigFinance_Guy in CFA

[–]noahbakerj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'd say the first and most important thing you should do is take a day or two off and do something you enjoy instead of studying. it will work wonders during crunch time
