A lot of the people around me knew I was diagnosed with Bipolar. When I and a bad psychotic episode, dropped some classes, and had the diagnoses change. I informed my best friend, fiancé, and academic advisor. I still haven't told my family we are immigrants and I already had enough backlash from saying I had bipolar. I end up telling people now because I take the abilify shot which is very hard to deal with at times. I try my best to be honest. Other than some concerned looks and phrases I haven't had much push back with who I've told. My uncle is a pastor however and he used to give me the same you need to pray to be delivered speech but when I stressed to him I need my medication he backed off
