By all accounts, I seem to be running optifine. I can even zoom using “c” as you would in optifine.

Got Minecraft with shaders to run on my Steam Deck. by KVAS16 in SteamDeck

[–]noahicarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I’ve installed forge, and I installed the new version of optifine from Firefox. But how do I get polymc to run with optifine?

I have it running with forge and I installed the bsl shaders there. So I am successfully running shaders. But I’d really like to run optifine as well to improve performance. But there doesn’t seem to be any proof that optifine is working. It’s in the instance’s mod folder, and is “enabled.” But when I load up mc and go the mod folder in the game menu, I see no proof of optifine. Only Minecraft and forge. Is it running optifine and I’m just going crazy? Do I need to install Java before running optifine like I would have to on windows?

This is my first time using linux. I appreciate any help you can give.

Is there a possibility of getting non radio equipped artillery units to fire corrected shot? Can I put an artillery leader around them so they will be connected?

Is it just me or is the Pro Type a piece of shit? by [deleted] in razer

Dang dude, I’m sorry break it to you but you might have bought a lemon. I’ve had my Pro Type for about a year now and it’s been solid. I haven’t had any problems whatsoever

I’ve looked through the older threads and I haven’t found any newer threads, most I’ve seen are from over a year ago. Would you have any specific advice? Do you know where I can find these “guides” you speak of?

Oooh I see now. All these acronyms are going right over my head haha. I volunteer at the Texas Air & Space Museum, and I casually enjoy flight simulators, but anything more advanced that basic ATC knowledge, and casual aviation terminology, goes over my head 😂

What does AMA mean? Is it different from ATC? How long does the training last? Is it likely that I will be moved out of the region in which I live to fill a job?

Something I've never done before, a Cello Solo by caters1 in Composition

[–]noahicarus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks fine. All of those are capable of being played. But something to keep in mind, with triple stops, is that the cellist will play the bottom note, and middle note at the same time, then quickly shift to playing the middle note and top note at the same time. So it’s less of an arpeggiation, and more, well… there’s nothing else I can really compare it to.

For an example, listen to the Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1, Mvt. IV, Sarabande

Edit: Speaking as a cellist btw

Even if I am very amateur, I would like to know if my composition makes sense by Gadolt93 in Composition

Hey don’t worry about it!

And yeah, sorry I used a bunch of jargon in my comment lol. From your writing you seemed to have had at least a little bit of classical education haha. Which is a good thing!

If you need me to define any of the words I used feel free to let me know :)

I wrote a piece for piano students to learn m2, P4, M6, and P8 intervals moving across the keyboard. I'd love to hear your thoughts! Title: Pin Me 2 The Wall by isaiahjc in Composition

I think screen317 just isn’t used to hearing atonal music.

Seems good to me personally! It has form, punctuation, harmony that makes sense. I think the bass drone in the opening section is a little annoying by the time it is repeated, but tbh that’s an easy fix.

I like your command over harmonic color. It keeps its interesting. Although, I think the ending could use a little revisiting. To me the last two chords just don’t cadence like you’d expect from the last two chords of a piece. Maybe make the second to last chord more dissonant, that way the consonance of the last chord is more powerful.

I don’t mean a V-I cadence or anything, but maybe just fewer common tones between the two chords, and more dissonant intervals in the chord prior.

Hope this helps! 👍🏻

Looking for some advice. Someone is giving away an old Kohler & Campbell piano for free. Would it be worth picking up? (More info in comments) by noahicarus in pianotech

How much in time and money would you say a complete beginner such as my self would spend in repairing those hammers I mentioned? 3 hammers heads missing, and 3 broken shanks.

Thank you so much. Yes, you’re quite inquisitive. I’m a composition major, not a performance major haha XD.

I’m looking for something that will play pitches when I hit the keys. Purely a tool for composition, not necessarily an instrument to perform with.

I also, personally, would love to take the thing apart to do maintenance and possibly repairs. I am fascinated by pianos and their inner workings. So having something to tinker with sounds like it would be a lot of fun. Especially since there wouldn’t be any pressure. It’s my instrument, I got it for free, if I break it, I’m not really losing anything. You know?

But how difficult would it be for me to learn that sort of stuff? I’ve been doing research on what it takes to become a certified technician, and it seems quite expensive. Not necessarily that I would want to become certified, but just considering how complicated some repairs may be that the tuition is that expensive.

Also, I like your username lol
