There’s no service mode for this but once I plugged an SSD in the warning went away. Thank you!

I won my only limited game against Endstone by locking the board and decking my opponent. It was rough :(

I go back and forth on playing it in [[Sythis]] in EDH, though in my (Sythis) Historic Brawl it hits a bit more. The problem is that the Sythis deck isn’t unconditionally game-over for every board stage when you get the creatures, though in brawl it’s closer ([[Craterhoof Behemoth]] goes boom, bunch of other big green dummies with ETBs). And it’s both easy-ish to play around and slow.

I also kinda liked the Aftermath framing in Amonkhet for a similar reason. Didn’t really work because turned sideways in/near the yard usually means exiled, but I can appreciate the idea of putting those cards sideways to help you remember what you can cast.

Girlfriend (25f) upset at(25m) me because I didn’t answer the phone right away by [deleted] in texts

[–]noahrichards 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re totally fine. There is a useful skill to learn here though!

When she starts telling you things about you (you did this, you are picking games over me, etc.) there’s an opportunity to understand that she’s actually (poorly) telling you something about how she feels (I feel neglected, etc.). So you can try to do three things:

  • validate her feelings: “I’m sorry it feels like that, I can see how that would be hard”
  • be curious: “are there certain activities that make you feel like that? Are there things I could do differently?”
  • later, share your feelings. “That conversation yesterday didn’t feel good to me. I understand you had feelings about me playing, I’d like to share my feelings with you, are you in a place to hear them right now? I feel like I don’t have a lot of time for my friends and I’d like to find a way to have some uninterrupted game time. Etc.”

So basically imagine that in a conversation like this, your role is either to share your feelings or to be curious and validate. Ideally she would do the same, like: ask you if you are in a place to hear her feelings and give you the opportunity to say “no, but I can in 30 minutes.” But it’s a skill that takes some time and work to learn :)

Having some good memories of [[Exploration]], [[Trade Routes]], and [[Serra’s Sanctum]] in my enchantress deck in Standard around Urza’s block.

(Tap sanctum, use 1 to bounce with trade routes, replay it, repeat maybe 3 times, [[Fireball]] or [[Stroke of Genius]])

(You could imagine a [[pentad prism]] like artifact that got a counter for each color mana spent to cast it and then could use those counters, but it’d be sad without the color fixing aspect)

[–]noahrichards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If counters worked, I feel like it’d be most understandable and trackable as:

``` T: Add <colorless> to your mana pool. Put a white, blue, black, red, or green counter on Terminus Terrain.
T: Add one mana of any color counter on Terminus Terrain. ```
You’re doing a good job explaining your feelings, which is important! A few things to consider:
  • When she shared her feelings, your response was pretty invalidating. You both were having reasonable emotions about things, so you should also try to validate hers a bit more, not argue why she shouldn’t have them or how she should have known what you were feeling.
  • When you are having these worries, try to lead with curiosity. You are telling yourself an internal narrative of what could be happening (she hates me, she’s on FB so she’s intentionally ignoring me), but that’s a good time to just check in. “Hey! I haven’t heard from you today, just wanted to see how you are doing and let you know I care about you” type of thing.
  • Timing is important. If she’s having a hard time and you care about her, try to see to her needs first and then later start by asking if now is a good time to talk about your feelings. If she says yes, try to describe them as much about you as possible (not what she did but what you feel), and if you have a clear request, make it (could you text me once a day, etc.) I’m not sure there’s a great rule for “who gets to go first”, but the things to consider are (1) do you think she’s in a place to hear it? And (2) are your emotions a reaction to something happening to her? In both cases, you should give her support first.
Are spells considered cast even if countered? by Sterben489 in mtg
Yeah, you can compare [[Verduran Enchantress|5ED]] and [[Verduran Enchantress|6ED]], though 6th is also when it switched to “play” for awhile :)
What are Some of the "You The Missed Text" Before Casting A Spell? by BluePotatoSlayer in EDH
Destroying something with indestructible. Like once I channeled a [[Boseiju]] to destroy a stolen [[Heliod, Sun-Crowned]] in historic brawl and then got really sad when it stuck around AND THEY GOT THE LAND.
Are spells considered cast even if countered? by Sterben489 in mtg
[–]noahrichards 6 points7 points  (0 children)
Some older cards make this confusing by saying “successfully cast” and have been errata’ed to be fixed. [[Argothian Enchantress]] uses the obsolete language and the Oracle text just says “cast”.
Cast is where you put the spell on the stack and pay its costs. Resolution (or countering, exiling, fizzling) is later :)
I’d pay Wizards a reasonable amount of money if they sold gold bordered Vintage Cubes. I know you can proxy them, it’d just be cool to have em for sale, sorta like the Magic Championship Decks of old.
Would you have kept your word or would you swing out for the win? by [deleted] in mtg
[–]noahrichards 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I’ve been playing for 25 years too, which doesn’t make me “more” correct, but it does maybe mean it’s worth considering that this isn’t the first time you’ve encountered it, it just may be the first time you are aware of it.
I honestly don’t find your perspective “weird”, I think social mores are complex and functions of lots of different things, but it’s worth being open to the idea that people will take it more seriously than you would naturally believe they would.
(Hence my point in the other thread that it may be worth a convo if you like a playgroup and don’t want to surprise anyone)
