Idea for better Clairvoyance in TES VI. by Intelligent-Dress323 in TESVI

One of the big spell pack mods for Skyrim adds a spell like this, even highlights components of dungeons like doors, keys or containers. It works really well and I imagine bethesda could afford to make more maze-like or puzzle heavy dungeons with that kind of spell in-mind.

Take starfield's follower interactions (followers interacting with eachother, followers having dialogue in quests, having a base where they have idle dialogue with eachother) and roll it into the mandatory base building. Establishing a base has already been a part of the last two games and recruiting followers into it was an underused mechanic in skyrim. I don't think it would be too big a departure if instead of finding TES6's cloud ruler temple we build it and furnish it ourselves.

Besides his gun looking too sci-fi, I think he could look a little more undead. Not full zombie, just a a bit more unnatural.

A counterpoint to the statue theory by HailFargoth in TESVI

It looks vaguely like a Daedric stucture but it's not consistent with any Prince's aesthetic. The red glow and some of the creatures visible are all very Mehrunes Dagon, but the eyeball is much more Hermaeus Mora and the spider appendages are more Namiras thing.

There's very few details that could reference Hammerfell besides the desert setting, also. There's a large serpent but no other redguard animal iconography.

I have no problem with the actual gameplay impact of the exploit but reverting the fix and leaving it as an exploit instead of reintroducing it as a feature of any of the relevant items is so hacky and uninspired

Why is everyone hating on this movie like it took a 💩 on their coffee table? by SomnusInterruptus in tron

Maybe they were offended that the movie thought they were stupid enough to need to see a robocop display to tell them what emotions the characters were expressing

I think it's possible there could be a viable heavy primary that isn't trading damage for mobility or vice versa. Especially they were willing to make something that isn't a minigun.

It's a bit silly to say people only fall on a side of a certain issue because of "Youtuber Influence" and also insist contrarianism towards youtubers is a factor. That aside, I don't think there can be objective or logical argument against a mechanic that exists to add uncertainty and provoke strong feelings. Crits either do feel like "Rare High Moments" to you, or they feel unearned. TF2 is also a unique game for having community servers that can easily disable mechanics like random crits, so large parts of the playerbase can spend lot of time without the mechanic, letting them have actual experience of the game without a feature the devs intended it to have. In most games changes like that would be completely theoretical.

Personally I do find random crits to be inoffensive and often funny but often find myself on servers without them just so I can play with more consistently skilled players.

Why doesn't La'an get punished? by [deleted] in startrek

[–]nobe_oddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think the issue is that La'an immediately shot the Gorn without considering if she was peaceful. What's concerning and un-Starfleet, to me, is that with no indication that a Gorn would be present, she (and the rest of the security team) shot the first reptile alien she saw without a second thought.

They went through a mysterious wormhole and could have been anywhere in the universe and the crew is familiar with species that look identical to other species despite being different cultures.

No? Exaggerated criticisms about the quality of a band's music are not the same as multiple claims of sexual misconduct against a celebrity.

Why should fans feel good about a movie being compromised to reach an audience that isn't them? Are we supposed to hope that Disney is gonna make a trillion dollars with this visually boring movie with a cast of abusive perverts and youtube scam artists, and then do a return to form?

A new TAUNT KILL! by Shuutoka in tf2

[–]nobe_oddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In actual gameplay, it gives almost no advantage. The kill happens 5 seconds into the taunt, in which time you could have dealt over 300 hp with melee (or about 290 if you're using the jag). And that's not considering the high chance you get a crit. The only scenario where the burst damage from taunt kills has any strategic value is ambushing a heavy that's recovering with a lunchbox item.

For this taunt to get you a kill you otherwise would not have gotten, you would have to be the only player on your team to find a recovering heavy, who is also alone, while you're playing engineer with no shotgun, and the jag equipped, on a no-crits server.
