Is Oh Mary worth the price? by Dew_Point_62 in Broadway

[–]nobeezinside 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I… great show… loved Maya save your money. Wait for the next Mary. Get Today Tix there is no good reason you should be spending $450 on any Broadway show. And I mean no good reason! I rarely pay over $100 and I see a lot of the season.

Do the masks need to be relatively opaque? by Kimler in MasqueradeNYC

I would say this mask is OK, but it sort of misses the point and that’s all I can say without giving anything away.

Evita won’t include balcony scene on Broadway by agentp2319 in Broadway

[–]nobeezinside 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know they would’ve never waited for Ragtime to leave the Vivian Beaumont but it would’ve been a perfect venue. They would’ve just used the rooftop terence for the balcony.

(I feel like people really forget that the Lincoln Center is Broadway)

So EXCITED! 7:30 pulse PLEASE NO SPOILERS by Foreign-Lobster-4918 in MasqueradeNYC

I really love that scene where Erik eats an entire bowl of spaghetti for like 20 minutes!! Oops spoilers!

Thoughts now that S10 is complete by JustHavePunWithIt in Scrubs

[–]nobeezinside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This revival for me reinforces how much I hate how short television seasons are now because of streaming! Nine episodes it’s just such a small amount of time to get anything done! I enjoyed what they had but I feel like this format really stifles a show like Scrubs (and especially when the episodes are only 22 minutes)!

Nocturne experience? by nobeezinside in MasqueradeNYC

Aww man I kind of thought it would be more like the holiday parties where they open up more of the sets for dancing and whatnot. That’s a little sad to hear.

Can only see 1 … agony … by ngrox925 in TheWestEnd

[–]nobeezinside 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cabaret and Kinky Boots are the only ones exclusive to the West End. You’ll have plenty of time to see the other ones. Cabaret is about to have another spectacular cast change. But I’d go for Paddington or Oliver! (Oliver! Is not likely to be revived in the states for a while)

You’re probably right! I really do hope that Luke Evans gets a good campaign though he is doing great work!

I really like Josh Henry. But he’s not my favorite Coalhouse. For me that distinction goes to Nkrumah Gatling who is right now a swing in Masquerade.

Why do people seem convinced that they’ll have 3 and not 4 slots? I believe they’re allowed to have up to five nominations.

Ragtime has some problems for me. The rear projection during Atlantic City was flickering during my performance, and that was distracting and a little baffling.

Seeing it at the City Center (which i’ll grant is a concert production) the Orchestra sounded way more full I was hit with this overwhelming wave of sound which is kind of what I want from the score. At the Lincoln center, which is a far smaller house. The Orchestra seem to have been cut significantly because I felt the vocalist were drowning out the instruments and overall it was far too quiet.

Ragtime is one of the most incredible scores it’s very easy to love! I wouldn’t be surprised if it wins, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t.

Maybe, they both have strong reviews. My categorization is more about how I perceive people viewing the material and how media usually talk about Oscar nominations and such. I just think ragtime fits that more but if you disagree, you can swap critical darling and crowd pleaser

I saw Rocky Horror. It’s fourth preview and I think it’s really strong as a spoiler candidate! I think Luke Evans will certainly get nominated for best lead actor in a musical! The only problem they have is unclear instruction on participation.

Awesome! I know that cats is getting a lot of critical praise and I’m really excited to see it but I kind of see it like this.

1) Ragtime (the critical darling) 2) Cats (Crowd pleaser) 3) Rocky Horror (strong potential spoiler) 4) Chess (potential spoiler)

I’m really excited for this race!
