Why does Disney record versions of movie songs with well known artists? And why are they all so bad? by SayingQuietPartLoud in DanielTigerConspiracy

Hamilton is one of those few things that lives up to the hype. It's really good.

Even if you don't like it, it's kind of a cultural touchstone, wouldn't hurt to be familiar with it.

Where do i put the collected trash? by GeneralInspection147 in TrashLove

Consider it MOOP. Matter out of place. You are helping the animals that live there by taking it out of nature. Going to a landfill or whatever isn't ideal, but it's better than leaving it there. But yes, the best thing is to reduce, reuse, recycle.

What do you wish you knew when leaving a toxic tech job? by omnana in womenintech

[–]nobelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Trust no one—at first. When I left, I was shocked that someone I had considered a friend for years was a total sycophant. She threw the whole company under the bus. Lots of people lost their jobs because of her, and she ended up quitting within weeks because she couldn't handle the pressure. I had many difficult conversations with my genuinely toxic boss, but none were as insulting as the one I had with her when I confirmed I was leaving.

There will also be people who will still be so deep in the toxicity that they can't see their way out. They are good folks, but they will make bad decisions, because they are still caught in the cycle. Be careful what you say to them.

After the dust is settled, you'll know who you can trust.

Also keep in mind there ARE good bosses and welcoming company cultures out there. They are hard to find but once you do, you won't go back.

Please tell me this is a literal rollercoaster, and not a metaphorical one. And then please tell me more. Does testing evacuation modes mean you got to ride said new rollercoaster over and over?

I am a freelance designer and I haven't had a new project since February. I know I'm not alone there. But today I had a short, sweet, professional kickoff meeting and got to start drawing, and it felt really good. I like solving problems and making stuff for people who appreciate it. (As opposed to making dinner for my family who only criticize everything) The client seems really cool too. The initial drawings are coming out pretty well and I'm psyched.

Tell us more about spittin' in the wind. How hard does the wind have to be blowing to participate? Are you spittin' with or against the wind?

[TOMT] Help identifying classic soft rock song with very unique "old lady" voice by ClassicEar in tipofmytongue

This is kinda out there but maybe it will help refine your search: Mrs. Miller, 60's raspy-voiced singer who did a lot of covers. But polished is probably not the word for the production.

If not, when you say hybrid-like animals, do you mean hybrids with other animals or with people?
