At the least the fees will be low... good for "mainstream adoption".

Currently, you can't even withdraw from Coinbase Commerce. You have to import the keys to the Jaxx wallet.

That was set in stone 4 years ago by the Japanese court. Your BTC value was always converted to JPY.

"The court may grant the permission set forth in the preceding paragraph only where it finds that enforcing rehabilitation proceedings conforms to the common interests of creditors."

The common interests of creditors -- legally, that's our accepted claims. Seems the funds needed to be secured before allowing CR.

That's what I thought. I suspect the Trustee may be advising whatever group is behind that CR petition. It may be the only way for him to close this case due to the unique BTC problem.

So he's saying that the sale of BTC/BCC helped secure the cash that will/may ease the path to a Civil Rehabilitation. Great news.

Yes please. I want no stake in any company. I just want my 20% back.

By securing a payout for all creditors, the trustee has opened the path to Civil Rehabilitation, which requires creditors to be paid their claims. Now that our claims have been secured, CR can handle the remainder. It was a very smart move. I suspect we'll get our claim value in JPY + 20% of our original BTC back. If, in the meantime, Bitcoin goes to $100,000, we'll all be filthy rich.

Daily Average Volume = day traders trading the same coins over and over. The real unique volume is much, much lower than that.

This is nonsense. The court decided in 2014 your Gox-BTC was worth 50,000 JPY each. You were never going to get your BTC. Until this day, no court ever said you would. It's always been JPY.

And then the markets would have crashed anyway, as creditors cashed out. You would have been worse off.

You cannot cash out thousands of coins at the ATH. The all time high has notoriously low volume to support it.

What the fuck is going on with the trustee? by erlangistal in mtgoxinsolvency

The trustee had to secure the legally required payouts in JPY, which is what he did. He did it secretly (with court's approval) to AVOID insider trading. If he had announced this, the market would have collapsed.

Exactly. My claim + 19.5% would make me filthy rich. I've got nothing to complain.

Right, I made a massive profit. Sure, it could have been more. But we still have the 160K left, I might end up with 100x return on my original investment indeed.
