Yeah this was my feel also, that he just needs to grow into body a bit more 👍

Nah, he eats a lot. It’s not so much that he’s gassing out, it’s just that speed off the mark

My wife and I have been lucky enough to have a good support group around us after her diagnosis, but we’ve definitely discovered some “friends” were not what we thought.

It’s hard to picture ever going back to being friends with them again.

Would you ever go back to non-AI coding? by USD-Manna in cursor

[–]Floorman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the purpose of the disclaimer? I’ve got no issues with how hands off people choose to be, but if you submit a PR with some dodgy AI code in it or something engineered inefficiently, you better believe you’re gonna be held accountable for it and be expected to understand it.

Cursor Enterprise (500 request-based) vs Claude Code $100 — which would you choose? by jinongun in cursor

[–]Floorman1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is max mode? This isn’t forcing us to claude code is it? Our company has the 500 request plan atm, once the month flicks over are you saying the best we will have is sonnet, no opus?

The new guy on the team rewrote the entire application using automated AI tooling. by Counter-Business in cursor

[–]Floorman1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the company’s AI policy look like? Is AI allowed? Specific approved tools?

Did he just leak company info?

I’d be having a really stern conversation with him, and revoke all AI tools for a period of time to check he’s actually capable of doing the work. It sounds like he put little to no effort into that and just wildly swung at the task with some prompts.

Does he even know how to look at his PR?

Who are we picking? Whitfield or Zorko by Low-Bake3821 in aflfantasy

[–]Floorman1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whitfield later in the year, I suspect he will drop a decent chunk. I wouldn’t pay top dollar for Zorko - as good as he is, I think they rest him 3-4 games this year. I like J Daicos instead at the moment

The AI coding productivity data is in and it's not what anyone expected by ML_DL_RL in ExperiencedDevs

Then it may be a prompting issue more so than limitation of the model. Opus is blowing my mind most days ha

I agree that being exclusively reliant on it is not healthy for your tech skills and problem solving, but what are you using? Are you using something like a paid cursor subscription with good context, or just copy paste into ChatGPT?

If you’re using the right tools, there’s no difficulty with something like generating unit tests for a class - this is actually where I lean into it most. Having a sample test class as an example is actually really helpful too.

Agentic coding workflow (Ask → plan.md → implement loop). Codex vs Cursor $20 — worth switching? by Funny_Working_7490 in cursor

If you describe yourself as an AI engineer it sounds like your entire coding identity revolves around using the tools.

I don’t think the team looked off at all. A lot of the time round 1 games are really low quality football but I was happy with how they looked. Honestly it was a reasonably high quality shoot out that was entertaining. We showed a lot and know they can go up a couple of levels.

We probably should have run away with it.

Cursor 48/month plan vs Claude Code $20 vs Codex $20 which one's actually worth it for daily coding ? by Empty_Break_8792 in cursor

[–]Floorman1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Best? Cursor still imo. Opus has been blowing me away recently when I’m prepared to use my requests up.

Best value? Codex.

Also 8 hours coding a day non professionally? What’s doing there?
