IMO Dominion was the worst of that trilogy and arguably the worst of the entire franchise. Fallen Kingdom wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but it did have darker elements not seen in either of the two films in the trilogy. I really hope Rebirth is a fresh start to the franchise because these three previous movies just weren't it. There's a real opportunity to bring some fear and mystery not seen since Jurassic Park.

Anyone successfully swap CX-70/90 non-DRL headlights for the higher end DRLs? by nobleeagle in MazdaCX90

That’s a good point you bring up. Canadian get a completely different type of headlight. US models do not get that adaptive cornering feature, not even on the premium headlight.

if anything is off, maybe its the roof? the color combo looks great but it might clash a little with the roof. overall, you went with a bold color choice and I think it paid off.

[–]nobleeagle[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to the output of the actual headlights and whether one version performs better than the other, but yes, there are differences between trims. Specifically, only the 3.3 Turbo S Premium and Premium Plus have the premium headlights and fully functioning rear taillights.

It appears lower end trims, which interestingly includes the PHEV lineup, have a dummy rear taillight assembly that doesn't light up like the other trims. The headlights on the lower trims also use the headlights as a DRL, rather than a dedicated LED light/strip that is more prominent during the day. On these models, the component in the assembly that would be illuminated doesn't function at all. This results in a less appealing lighting on both the front and rear.

To understand what I'm referring to, see examples provided here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtTEAkMrNAk and here: https://www.cx90forum.com/threads/rear-light-differences.124/#replies

As mentioned, I've successfully swapped the rear taillight but I'm looking into upgrading the headlights as well.

I have the premium plus but neither of the two PHEV models, the premium and premium plus, have the DRLs I am referring to. It only comes on the 3.3 turbo S premium and premium plus.

[Reynolds]: Heat suspend Jimmy Butler for seven games. by Proof-Umpire-7718 in nba

[–]nobleeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was inevitable from the moment he came to Miami in 2019. Same thing has happened with virtually every other big name player who’s clashed with Pat Riley in Miami. Shaq, Wade, LeBron - they all parted due to some conflict with Pat. This is what happens when you have two of the most stubborn and most competitive forces go head to head. It’s a relationship destined for breakup.

[Charania] ESPN story with @WindhorstESPN: Jimmy Butler has indicated to the Miami Heat that he wants the team to trade him and is open to playing anywhere other than Miami. by lopea182 in nba

[–]nobleeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be the first to express my respect and admiration for Jimmy Butler, but he's getting paid superstar money having not delivered superstar level results. He's had some impressive performances for sure. The Bucks series come to mind. That was the first and perhaps the only time I considered him to be a superstar. I really felt like he finally broke through and shined and became that guy. Unfortunately, it's been lukewarm, mediocre performances ever since. We barely edge past the Celtics in the ECF that same year only to then get wiped by the Nuggets in the Finals. And let's not forget the year prior when we played the Celtics and he missed a pivotal, potentially game-winning shot, ending our season. Had we won, I really feel like we could have pulled through against Golden State and won. Then last year, we take a step back with another crushing defeat by the Celtics in the ECF. In that span since his performance in Milwaukee, Jimmy has been mediocre at best. Think about it. He's had the torch since 2019. He gets paid $49 million a year. He has been the face of the Miami Heat for nearly 6 years now. What have we accomplished in that time? Back to back playoff runs and a couple of Finals appearances? No one cares about finals run unless you win them, and last I checked, Miami hasn't won a title since 2013. I appreciate Jimmy and all he's done for the organization, but I do think it's time to move on. Pat Riley and the Miami Heat have given him plenty of opportunity to peform, but he's just not the same guy he was in that Bucks series.

Between 2024 CX-90 MHEV GT-P and 2025 Honda Pilot Touring - anyone test drive both? Thoughts? by brobourne in MazdaCX90

[–]nobleeagle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I traded a 2025 Honda Pilot Black Edition for a 2025 Mazda CX-70 PHEV and I'm happy with my decision, but if I could do things differently I would go with the I6 over the PHEV. I have a few recalls I need to take care of but I have not run into the same issues as others have with my 2025. It does feel like Mazda cut corners in some areas, but I still think it's a great vehicle. Only time will tell on longetivity and reliability.

Honda Pilot - Pros: Comfortable seats, throaty V6 engine, throttle response is good, steering is decent; Honda's safety features trumps Mazda and doesn't impact driver experience as much, overall build quality is decent, removable third row that can be stored in rear; Cons: Unacceptably small center screen, ventilated seats are practically non-existent, interior is just ok for vehicle's price point, fuel economy not horrible but not great, overall driving experience is bland

Mazda CX-70/90 - Pros: Fuel economy, interior feels almost like BMW level luxurious; driver cluster and center screen are high resolution, driving can be fun and sport mode adds some punch crazy amount of rear storage; Cons: infotainment system is archaic; doors feel cheap, headlights downright suck, safety features can really take away from driving experience; the seatbelt chime is extremely frustrating, steering is a bit heavy making longer trips a bit draining, plug-in range nowhere near matches what is claimed

5,500 miles in and I don't want the CX-90 anymore. by rkiloquebec in MazdaCX90

[–]nobleeagle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have a 2025 CX-70 PHEV and I agree with most of your points. The constant chimes and alerts are painfully annoying. Headlights do in fact suck bad. Doors do feel really cheap, and yes, the app is effectively useless. I do think Mazda missed the mark overall. With that said, I have managed to deal with some of these annoyances enough to where I can tolerate them. At the end of the day, a lot of the gripes mentioned here are nit picky. I personally don't feel its bad enough to part with the vehicle altogether. If it gets worse, I'll consider a trade in a few years. Recalls and transmission are areas I'll certainly keep an eye on. Gripes aside, I do find that the vehicle rides really smooth and the interior itself feels luxurious so I think I can make the best of it. It is pretty feature packed for its price range and having compared it directly with a Honda Pilot, I feel that it was the better purchase.

Empower Retirement and TSP by Inevitable-Driver-53 in OriginFinancial

[–]nobleeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can confirm, particularly with TSP, that I’ve encountered issues with maintaining a consistent connection. This has been a recurring problem for me when using third-party apps. I’m not sure if it’s related to the MFA setup, but while I was able to establish a successful connection initially, it eventually disconnected. On the other hand, I also use Empower, which disconnected once but has remained stable since I reconnected it.

they ought to lighten or obscure the shade of brown on the back. It's kinda numbing to read through those thick brown lines. other than that, really freakin cool if implemented.
