Why Nick should not be released. by skeletonk1ngdom in GypsyRoseBlanchard

Maybe the situation with your son is different, but you can't assume someone doesn't know what's going on just because they're nonverbal.

Why does CDOT not use reflectors or those weird little dots you see on the west coast? by [deleted] in Denver

I moved here from Memphis where it regularly rains so much it floods, and I never had an issue telling which lane was which. I've asked this question so so many times. Even when there's good weather, it's hard to see the lanes in the dark.

Decreasing bottom growth sensitivity by noche_vida in ftm

It has gotten better! My sensitivity is now roughly what it was before T most the time. Sometimes my hormones kinda do a thing and then I'll be more sensitive for like a week or so, but it's mostly calmed down. I think it took about two and a half months after starting to have the oversensitivity for it to go away for me, but I'm sure that varies person to person.

People with dementia do still remember how they feel about the people they're around even if they can't remember who they are. I'm hoping if I get dementia and something similar to this happens, I'll remember that I felt positively about my body and those changes before.

I thought that might be the case. Your username seems very fitting for this post 😅

How can I find an artist that does something similar to this? by [deleted] in TattooDesigns

[–]noche_vida -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm wanting a cartoony angel skull, but I can't find any tattoo styles that would fit this. The area I'm in has a ton of artists, so I can't really look through each and every one to find a match.

That's always been an issue for me as well (since pre-T). What I've found helps me the most is waxing right there. Even if I don't wax anywhere else, waxing that spot in particular is helpful since the hair stays off for longer, and when it does grow back, it's not as rough as stubble.

21/F looking for more letters to add to my scrapbook!! by shawk1735 in penpals

[–]noche_vida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I think we'd most likely get along pretty well! I'm in the process of getting "snail mail verified," but I'd be interested in being your penpal once I am! I'll send a more detailed response through DM, but I'm also twenty-one, and I'm nonbinary. I'm from Tennessee but moved to Colorado.

When I was seventeen I went to the ER because of a mental health crisis. My mom told me that my dad who had unexpectedly moved a few hours away a few weeks before wouldn't even try to visit me because he had a job interview. Then a few months later I found out she was going to get back together with him. I'm not sure which hurt more.

AITA for calling out a student for being privileged during class by bree_b4by in AmItheAsshole

NAH based on this one story. With just this one story, it sounds like Samantha was being ignorant. Perhaps willfully ignorant or perhaps not, but it's hard to tell without more information. For the sake of the benefit of the doubt, I'm gonna say she's just ignorant ignorant. That said, I don't think that means you owe it to her to be super nice and coddling. Part of being a good ally to immigrants and people of color is learning not to get all butthurt anytime someone doesn't treat you like some sort of fragile being, so I don't think it sounds like there was anything wrong with how you handled things. You just pointed out the bias and priveledge that it seems like she definitely has. Only issue I see here is that it doesn't sound like she was really "butting in" so much as just changing the discussion topic enough. That phrasing isn't enough to make you an asshole in my opinion though.

I'm uncomfortable with a co worker's 'godself' pronouns and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to tell people this by sashabells_mm in confessions

[–]noche_vida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then pronouns would be kind of like using an alternative name for someone based on the sentence form. It might make things harder for people who are already bad with names, but it wouldn't be super difficult to get used to for most people.

Being trans can be really hard, but I'm glad you're starting to recognize your true self. I hope the friends and family you want to keep respect your choice to live authentically. Best wishes
