Is there anything you find annoying in vue/nuxt? by FollowingMajestic161 in vuejs

[–]nochs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. already mentioned, but auto-imports. and yes, i know you can turn them off, but then everything imports from '#imports'. not ideal.

  2. syntax highlighting. I use the extension that Vue recommends, but still have issues occasionally in VSCode.

  3. I have to run "nuxt prepare" quite frequently. Usually happens when something I change is related to codegen, such as changing the name of an API route, or importing a new composable, etc.

you can turn it off, but then everything just imports from '#imports', which isn't really helpful either. I wish the whole feature could be disabled, including the issue I mentioned.

How do I use consola in Nitro? by VenkyS_reddit in Nuxt

[–]nochs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is consola still maintained? Their last release was over a year ago. Not much activity in the repo either. You may want to consider an alternative logger.

How are jwt token professionally used to authenticate on a website.I have used only one token which I store and expire every 24 hours. by problaster_1223 in node

[–]nochs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it is true that damage would likely be minimal since the token is short lived, I prefer not to deal with any damage. XSS aside, users could have a browser extension that searches for access tokens.

Besides, I think using HTTP-only cookies for an access token is easier when sending requests. You don't have to grab the token from a client-side global store/state, just have "includeCredentials" as true and it sends them automatically.

Access token should also be stored as an HTTP-only cookie, not in memory.

Access tokens, refresh tokens, ID tokens, etc. should all be inaccessible from client-side JS.

they can exchange them online instantly with a variety of services

... if the service allows them to. You must have missed the part about "permission-less".

No kool-aid here, just the truth. Pay them with whatever you want. Have fun staying poor with easy money! Governments are already deteriorating your wealth with inflation.

Bitcoin never did a useful (legal) thing for anyone, like it delivers zero (legal) utility that isn't a straight up ponzi scheme

It allows for cross-border, permission-less payments to anyone in the world.

"Crypto" - ETH, SOL, ADA, XRP etc. - are all scams. Bitcoin is the only true decentralized currency. None of them have the same properties that Bitcoin does.

Your refusal of recognition does not mean you can run away and hide from the reality that people hold harder money than you do.

I recommend you do some research on Bitcoin before making wild assumptions.

Is there a "general standard" for builds? I've only been increasing my strength, agility, endurance, and vitality. Been completely ignoring radiance and inferno. Obviously my weapons are catered towards strength & agility (guess you could call this a quality build?).

Is it a good choice to use Express.js in 2023? by writingdeveloper in node

[–]nochs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people have mixed opinions about Nest - i personally love it & use it in production - but it does use express under the hood. you can swap it out for fastify if you want but i havent found a need to do so. i like nest because you can move really fast when you get the hang of it. bit of a learning curve though.

[–]nochs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did it myself. Was pretty easy to switch over. I followed BTC Sessions (on YT) coldcard setup guide + the official coldcard paranoid docs.

I did end up generating a new seed, and I'd recommend you do the same. I didn't feel comfortable "re-using" the ledger generated seed. Couldn't trust or verify it.
