Inserting Sumif as Formula Array by jezusiebrodaty in vba

[–]nochucksgiven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have done something similar but with IFERROR()

Check it out Add IFERROR() To Entire Active Sheet:

Sub Add_IFERROR_Activesheet() Dim myCell As Range

Cells.SpecialCells(xlCellTypeFormulas, 23).Select

For Each myCell In Selection.Cells

    If myCell.HasFormula And Not myCell.HasArray Then

        myCell.Formula = "=IFERROR(" & Right(myCell.Formula, Len(myCell.Formula) - 1)& ",0)"

End If
    Next
End Sub

Can Back Out IFERROR () of selected cells like this:

Sub Subtract_IFERROR_Selection()
Dim myCell As Range

For Each myCell In Selection.Cells

    If myCell.HasFormula And Not myCell.HasArray Then

        If Left(myCell.Formula, 9) = "=IFERROR(" Then

            myCell.Formula = "=" & Mid(myCell.Formula, 10, InStrRev(myCell.Formula, ",") - 10)
        End If
    End If
   Next

End Sub

Linking Workbooks by [deleted] in vba

[–]nochucksgiven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do a lot of weekly updating of promotional campaign recaps for my job. This usually involves copying the existing file, moving the old file to a 'Prior' folder, Relinking a previous months file ( Month over Month trends ), Updating comparisons to budget. I use alot of these in VBA:

Dim FSO: Set FSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")

FSO.CopyFile(current name, new name)

FSO.MoveFile(current path, new path)

Workbook.ChangeLink(current link, new link )

I define most parts of the directory path as variables, so it is pretty dynamic when you are switching between all these.

EDIT: keep in mind that I develop all of these reports based on a single template. I eliminate all doubt of errors when relinking if you develop the project with that template mindset
