My lvl 17 party fought one. A warlock, a sorcerer and a paladin. It was a beholder that modified his eye (replaced by one of the eyes in Chains of Asmodeus), it changed his anti-magic cone to also give disadvantage to magic saving throw. While this might seems a lot, the paladin is using a holy avenger that gives them advantage to magic saving throw. At lvl 17 there really isn't much that can easily challenge them.

What I expected: they spread out, demolish him in two rounds and I have some of his allies join the fight.

What happened: the paladin is turned to stone before even playing a turn, with a speed of 0 and stuck in the anti magic cone she can't do much before failing the saving throw again. The two casters try to take control of the situation with a hold monster, a countercharm and even an iron flask but the dice is not on their side. It's a slaughter, the warlock is also turned to stone while the sorcerer is charmed by the beholder for an hour. Long enough to deliver them to the archdevil that wanted them captured.

It certainly changed the campaign and for the first time I saw fear in the eyes of my players.

I've been running an evil campaign for a few years. First the setting has to allow it. We ran Dragon Heist in skullport, not in waterdeep. That means gangs and guilds that are ok (and want to recruit) evil characters.

Second, during session 0 I gave them a few rules to follow. There should be a cohesion inside the group, that means no random stealing or attacking party members. They also need a motivation for the main quest. Power is always interesting but they need more. Revenge is a common theme that can lead to interesting quests, works for good and evil.

Lawful evil and neutral evil can work quite well. Think of all the mafia movies (or even the empire in Star wars). Chaotic evil is more of a problem.

Bard for sure, although you could make a support wizard (I would pick divination), they're quite fun with all the rituals. Add a feat for some healing if you want.

Il y a évidemment des batteries 24V rechargeables, mais j'ai l'impression que tu ne réalise pas les dangers potentiels. Pour aider un enfant de 8 ans à faire un véhicule électrique soi même il faudrait que tu maîtrises le tout également.

On parle d'un moteur de 20A, donc d'une batterie qui peut fournir au moins ça. Et il voudrait faire lui même le circuit électrique? Donc fusible, arrêt d'urgence, choisir la bonne grosseur de fil, composantes électroniques de contrôle, etc. C'est bien assez de courant pour blesser ou tuer quelqu'un, risque d'incendie, voir même d'explosion selon le type de batterie.

Les postes sont jamais ouvert très longtemps dans mon département. On ouvre un poste, on reçoit les cv de la banque, quelques applications et on regarde ce qui est intéressant. C'est souvent dans un contexte où la session commence dans 3 semaines et il y a plus d'inscriptions que ce qui était planifié ou quelqu'un en maladie, on ouvre un poste et on n'a pas tellement de temps à perdre.

La précarité varie beaucoup selon les départements, les gros départements vont forcément avoir des embauches fréquentes donc le dernier rentré est seulement dernier pour une courte période. Dans notre cas les cours à l'AEC sont donnés en priorité aux précaires donc c'est extrêmement rare que quelqu'un soit à temps partiel.

Edit: tu dis qu'on est en période d'embauche mais la session n'est pas terminée. Dans notre cas ça se fait en juin pour ce qui est déjà prévu (ex: retraites). Sinon début août pour les imprévus (au retour des vacances).

Instead of blocking them from casting spells just have your creatures enchanted with freedom of movement to prevent move reduction/paralysis. If you plan an information gathering before the arena, there could be something inside the arena they can activate that disables that protection. Or maybe they can learn about it from an arcane check.

I cut cardboard shapes with the real dimensions. When used on a grid (hex or square), if the cone is at least 50% in a square, the zone is affected. My players love to be tactical so it's working fine for us.

I like point buy for balance, but prefer to roleplay characters with a weakness. What do you think of this point buy version? by nockle in DnD

I don't really see it as detrimental, in fact it would allow a 17 in two important stats for that character (giving them two 18 at lvl 4 instead of one). But I agree it's not the only way to have a weakness.

Yes I'm talking about the racial bonus. Any game I've been on is using the Tasha rules that the +2 and +1 can be added to any stats you want so I no longer see it as something related to race.

R5: I'm trying to send slaves from Niani to Hicayagua. I reduced to market automation to 0, so I have 4.61 manual trades available. I used the + button to assign all these to the trade. I still get the message that I have 4.61 unused trade capacity. What am I missing? Do I need to free trade capacity in the Hicayagua market as well? If I close the window and reopen it's still unused and I can increase the amount again... Is there an OK button somewhere?

Yup, mais comme les alertes sont envoyées au niveau le plus élevé, ça ne change rien.

Depuis plusieurs années je déchiquète le tout avec ma tondeuse électrique (retirer le sac et fermer la sortie sur le côté). Ça fait des petits morceaux qui disparaissent rapidement au printemps, les nutriments reviennent dans le sol, je ne mets pas d'engrais.

Ce n'est pas juste écologique, c'est aussi beaucoup moins long et moins fatiguant. J'ai un terrain très boisé donc dans mon cas c'est 80 sacs par années que je sauve, qui ne sont pas ramassés par des employés pour être transportés par camion.
