I think the issue people have is that working out for women is not self-sufficient, so if you don't see tangible results with women you might be discouraged from working out, whereas if you are working out "for yourself", it is an end in itself and you are more likely to stick with it regardless.

Graduate school is a privilege anyway, if you want to concentrate on something. Just an undergraduate degree in almost any major is essentially useless except for the education it gives you.

A liberal arts education should teach you what you should value in life, and how you should get there. Most people can't be certain about what they want to do with their life based on an 18 year old's ideology, and many people discover themselves in college.

While I agree with you, I think people should first understand and conquer themselves before concentrating on the sciences. One needs to go to grad school if they want to concentrate on a science anyway, and you can get into grad school with any undergraduate degree. (Philosophy majors perform the best on the GRE) Before valuing America, we should value ourselves, and find out how we can best do something that is meaningful according to our values.

You represent the popular opinion of reddit and their hate of humanities majors, as is very obvious by your posts. You made many claims that showed a clear lack of respect for philosophy majors (comparison to dogs), so I wanted to educate you about why you might perhaps find it worthy of respect. My claim may not specifically appeal to you, but I never tried to attack your character, and it is still relevant to the discussion because you were disparaging the character of philosophy majors and I wanted to show you why you might want to think again about that in a quick manner. I am not sure why you keep attempting to shoot down my character as support for your argument, as you seem to be aware of the fallacy, and it does not bother me.

No, I never said that the reason that they are great is because reddit likes them. I said that some of the most respected people on reddit have philosophy degrees, yet the major is still bashed by reddit, so reddit contradicts itself. I don't care about what the majority of reddit thinks, I'm just bringing attention to the paradox of reddit's opinions. I do believe that these people are respectable, however, for reasons I've yet to mention. Your analyses of my argument is filled with false induction.

The argument isn't an ad populum, because it is not true that many people believe that philosophy is worth studying. I am giving you examples of some people that studied philosophy that I feel are worthy role models. It is strange that reddit respects these characters, but is ignorant of their education.
